I think we can all agree that Billy Davies is a bit of a nob. Fairly decent manager though.

I wish I could imagine 'Nice Guy Nige' lamping him one like his dad did to those forest fans back in the day. Sadly, it will never happen. Except in Billys imagination.

I'll have you know, we've never been relegated, ever. Not even when with finished bottom with the great Ebbe in charge. We forced a league reconstruction and stayed up. Not looking great this season though, I have a bad feeling.

If it wasn't for Aberdeen you wouldn't have any of these in football:

Pies
Seats!
Alex Ferguson
Abusive and generally insane fans
1983
Seagulls
Wee Gordon Strachan
Hooligans
Cricket Clubs invited to take part in Cup by mistake

And plenty other things I could probably make up.


Some Aberdeen fans have a chip on the shoulder, try the whole frigging chip shop!
I on the other hand Am one of the sensible ones and realise we should be happy with maybe top 5 in Europe as opposed to no.1 all the bloody time...o.k. once if pushed.


The problem with Aberdeen was they build Pittodrie on the site of an old dung heap. Unfortunately the powers at be seem to think its still a place to put there rubbish on.

To be fair, it really is a lot harder to get relegated from the SPL. You really have to want to be relegated quite badly for it to happen.

Maybe Aberdeen FC isn't a good idea...

It is harder, but we get a raw deal from the SPL in the aid of competition. Not sure how the EPL works but the tv money which is the bulk benefit from being in the SPL is scaled badly for Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs. The 3 middle sized teams after Rangers and Celtic.

The tv revenue is split:
Rangers - 10 X base
Celtic - 10 x base
Others - 1 x base

Which is crazy, ok Rangers and Celtic are on the tv every week, fair enough. But why its scaled only in there favour, beats me. Does give the small teams a bigger leg up, good for competition but bad for the aforementioned. The scale if down proper fairly should be.

Rangers - 10 X base
Celtic - 10 X base
Hearts - 3 X base
Aberdeen - 3 X base
Hibs - 3 X base
Dundee U - 2 X base
Others - 1 X base

Its all for the big 2. If Aberdeen and the two Edinburgh teams got their fair share it would help a little bit. It would make it easier for them to beat the smaller teams which is a big reason why they can't get closer the OF. There have been season recently when we have got the better of Rangers or Celtic
but we can't get a run against the small teams who are getting a bigger hand out than they deserve really.

They OF obviously love it this way, their idea.
