Subject: Nottm Forest Rant
just heard forest are trying to sign andy cole on 25k a week, reportedly.
if thats true then the forest chairman is as mad as he is tall. and he's pretty tall.

Cole scored 8 in 13 games while at Burnley last season. It's a plaster on a wound, but it's a good plaster.
I'd sooner we gave Tyson a new contract that sign Cole.
The next signing's going to be some random French player from their 2nd division. Hmm!

Varney moved to Charlton from Crewe last season, and was on over 20k a week, he scored something like 5 goals last season. I'd suggest that Cole represents decent value for money on that basis.
If it helps, and it probably doesn't, Norwich have been linked with some Macedonian defender from Germany who's 29, Shola bleeding Ameobi for half of the value of the planet Neptune, and perpetual sick-note Maceo Rigters.
Feel better now ?

that was last season, he would be playing in a newly promoted team with little chamiponship experience between them all playing frankly, defensive football (despite having some good creative footballers)
i was aware of his record last season as he was linked to leeds, but for that money? for that team? its crazy. if forest were pushing for promotion and were an established team and if cole was slightly younger than yeah it would be good value.
seriously i can see forest giving him a 2 year contract. may as well cut their arm off for that money, one year and he may do something, but if forest stick with their 4-3-3 cole is going to have to do alot of box work and i doubt at his age he'll hack much more than 25 games.
it all depends who forest sign but their strikers will be key for next season, to blow the wage budget on one ageing, yet good striker doesn't seem worth it, not when the likes of enoch showumi is on a free at less than half the price.
personally i'd splash out on nicky maynard, in fact im hoping leeds sign him even if it means they can't buy anyone else this season.

I have a friend that lives in Graz, he likes Austria. He says it the best place in the world to live. Personally I have my doubts...
that french lad is so good he doesn't even have a wiki page.
next felix bastians/ eugen bopp is my estimation.

graz is a beautiful place with great street cafe culture. its surounded by mountains and is almost always sunny. his location probably tints his view a little... but it is an amazing country
if they have earnshaw and cole up front, i could see forest playing counter-attack fairly effectively, if cole still has some pace he could be a decent provider for earnshaw. i agree that its a lot for a player his age though. it all depends on whether his legs are still there.

boom boom, i do love a bit of football banter! :D he's a fat lazy git anyway, he can make things happen out of nothing when he can lift his face from the pies.
@Norwichcitynil : this is the best thing about the start of the new season, all the speculation. we can give our best armchair managers appraisal but anything can happen at any point. Bristol city will probably do nothing this season, ipswich will go down the pan big style, wolves will sod it up along with watford and cardiff will go into liquidation as the chairman buys everyone a helicopter. Luton may not even be playing league football and every leauge 1 club will ask to play their home game against leeds at 12pm on a tuesday morning on the moon.
or perhaps none of that will happen, fancy a punt of WBA staying up though, i reckon they'll do alright.

Aye, the common joke is that Wolves should just be awarded 7th place, and then let everyone else get on with it :)
Also would that be 12pm moon time?

I'm fatter than the bloke in that picture and I am offen compared to a rake, and not because of my handsome smile.
yeah they may aswell give them the 7th spot but should really go through the motions for the camaras.
and that would be 12pm yeovil/carlisle time, which may as well be the moon.
