Subject: Nottm Forest Rant
Probably! He looked like he was driving like someone's nan. I drove past too quickly to react, but in retrospect I wish I'd have tootled the horn and waved to him.
He wouldn't have seen you. He can probably only see things 50 yards away and further.

exactly. If you get the ball to his feet, most championship orcs are still trying to work out which way to swerve by the time he's banged it past the keeper. Oh, and good luck with Cole. At 25k a week, you need some kind of return, let's hope he stays fit for you.
We haven't signed Cole have we? I was hoping that was vicious rumours.
A norwich site I use had a post on there with Sky Sports News as its source at midday.

i've heard about cole for a few days now
but the hot rumour now is forest are in contract talks with joe garner. for just over a 1.25million.
earnshaw certainly isn't a goalscoring mole he's a headless chicken with bench warming abilities. mind you given calderwoods track record he'll be playing on the wing with no one to cross to.... if he could cross it.

So then, how good is this Shackell bloke?
Well, he has been a regular in the central defence role for the last 2 seasons. Norwich have conceded 130 goals in the last 2 seasons. However, he is English, and if the 6 plus 5 rule comes into force, then players like him will be rocking-horse dung.
Word on the forums here is that Wigan have an agreed bid of 1.2 million. Could just be agent talk though.

"and if the 6 plus 5 rule comes into force" it wont do, never ever!
the big shock signing so far is gianni zuiverloon to WBA, i'd say thats a fantastic buy i rate that guy highly. and was quite cheap.
just to move it back slightly on topic, forest signed andy cole today.

Apparently they may, because it doesn't restrict who you can employ.
hmm..
Would have been good if he had been 26 rather than 36....
but anyhow, at least we haven't signed Robbie Fowler.....yet...

interesting, i suppose it doesn't restrict. never thought about it like that but i still say its bad news for the english league short term, would do us wonders in the long term.
not sure how much cole is on but if the reported figure is right cole will rush forest about £1,500,000 which isn't terrible if he gets a few goals. as i said before joe garner is next on the list for forest and this rumour has finally been confirmed by the nottingham evening post. said he's subject to an accepted bid so something may start to happen there.
still need a back up goalie. full backs, another centre back and a winger once you get garner. another big midfielder player wouldn't go amiss.

My lodger (also a Forest fan) reckons that the £25k a week reports are rubbish and that we wouldn't break our wage structure to pay Cole that much.
