Subject: Nottm Forest Rant
surely forest fans know something about him, he did play in the same division as you.
anyway he's ok, fairly quick and has enough guile to create chances and work spaces well from the bit i've seen of him he sits a little bit deeper than the most advanced striker and acts as the foil to a teams attack. would work well with tyson on the wing and earnshaw up front as those two guys run into channels
is injured now (how did he pass his medical?) and will be till at least september probably october

I guess I meant in the wider aspect of playing £1.1m for him. I didn't think much of him. He hasn't played that much.
I would have rather bought Maynard. I think Bristol City got a good player there - mind you he cost 2x as much.

We knew he was injured when we signed him: wonder if they waived the medical or just fudged the bits they could do!? Calderwood wanted to get in early and sign him rather than risk a bidding war when he was fit again; all adds up to indicate we really wanted to get him, so hope they're right.
the medical would of been skipped, anyway he's worth the money and they must think he can do it in the championship, he was a top player in league one and was very highly thought of.
reckon maynard would of been out of your price range in terms of transfer and wages, you shot your load on earnshaw. i would of gone maynard all the time.
should of tried to get sam vokes to or freddy eastwood, someone who would lead the line when things arn't going right because i cant see anyone doing that at forest. garner maybe earnshaw hides in the tougher games. he doesn't like getting kicked much and they kick much harder in this division

They will test everything they need to, and the injury will have been assessed, to make sure there's nothing wrong with it.
I heard you forest fans have dexter blackstock on loan...has he played yet? What do you think to him?
Wasn't he in Dynasty in the 80s ? Didn't he have it away with Blake Carringtons' wife ?
With any luck his debut's this w/e in our crunch match against fellow pap team Barnsley. I might go as I've not been for ages.
Davies wants a target man to play up front so Tyson/Earnshaw/McShefferty can play off them. I don't know much about Blackstock but I didn't think he was that type of player...? Anyhow, with 12 goals for QPR (he's their out of favour leading scorer) and an option to purchase at the end of the season (welcome to League One Dex) the omens are fairly good I reckon. Fingers crossed...

He's a decent little player and only 22. I didn't really track him much since he left oxford but he's not a bad goal scorer. Slight but quick, newcastle fans may remember he played in goal in an fa cup match once.
yep, every time qpr scored last year and the begining of this, he was usually the one to score it.
frankly I'd happily see Dexter Fletcher play if he can keep us up.
Oh, and has anyone noticed that we only seem to be signing players aged 18-22 despite all the talk of our team being too young?!
What do you think of Blackstock now you've had chance to see him for a bit after signing?
I think you're probably quite happy with him?

Seems pretty good, yeah. If he carries on like this he'll finish with at least 15 or so this season.
Aye. He looks quite nifty. Unsure about Adebola though at present, even though I understand the idea of a different type of player from the Tyson/Earnshow/Blackstock kind of striker.
He also works well in our 3-3-4 formation.
Mind you, I do wonder if we'd be better off with the odd extra mid or att. Does Billy Davies realise if you play more than 3 ATTs you don't get training?
