Subject: Nottm Forest Rant
Aye. He looks quite nifty. Unsure about Adebola though at present, even though I understand the idea of a different type of player from the Tyson/Earnshow/Blackstock kind of striker.
He also works well in our 3-3-4 formation.
Mind you, I do wonder if we'd be better off with the odd extra mid or att. Does Billy Davies realise if you play more than 3 ATTs you don't get training?

He might be training them in stamina every week?
he did focus on that over the summer, maybe hasn't switched back.
I went to the Forest Blackpool game on Saturday - very frustrating smash and grab from Blackpool, but to give them the credit they're due, they defended very well.
There was far too much hoofing it up towards Earnshaw and Tyson rather than trying to play them through.

We had the same problem when Earnie played here - he does work best on the ball behind the defence - you won't beat him over 20 yards if you're 6 foot 3 plus. But I wonder if he puts himself about enough to get those balls through delivered.
He's lazy, and his field of vision seems to be very poor when picking a pass - he normally scuppers things rather than managing to play in midfielders coming forwards. It'll be interesting to see whether we get more bids for him at Christmas; I think it's 50:50 whether by then he'll have spat his dummy over not playing often enough and we end up selling him to someone higher up in the league, as we languish near the bottom.
He's a difficult player to sell for just those reasons. If you've got a big man in the Geoff Horsfield mould in Tyson, they should work well - Earnshaws' real benefit is scoring from in the box - he's just quicker to get onto the ball and can have a killer shot from 10 or 15 yards. If you can overlook his laziness over the rest of the pitch and have someone who can put the balls on a plate to him, he'll score you 20 goals - but that might be to the detriment of goals from the other players. I don't think he's ever been promoted with a team - can't see it happening either. Maybe a play-off contender will look at him at Xmas ?
It's funny you mention the hoofing; against the Mighty Owls a few weeks ago I thought that you were rubbish apart from anything that went through Paul Anderson, sadly he played a blinder...
For the periods we did keep him quiet you soon ran out of ideas and just 50p'd it up the park, but I can hardly talk, Wednesday have hardly had a quality 90 minutes since we played in mullets.

Thing is, Wednesday don't need a quality 90 minutes to keep their fans happy, as Neil Warnock once said "they'd applaud the grass at Wednesday"... :)
to be fair he is one of life's biggest penises though...

Never have you spoken more truth......it may even be an under-estimation there.

hmmm... football does seem to attract this type of chap though...
and yet Wednesday seems to attract the likes of Paul Sturrock - funny that.
I will have you know we have a long standing record of attracting good managers that only do badly whilst at Hillsborough...
