correct me if im wrong but didn't america pretty much gain their inderpendance because of the french rather than their own efforts. mind you its quite common for americans to take all the credit for someone elses work, according to them World War 2 was fought entirely by American actors.

anyway Britain has never recognised Americas inderpendance so i reckon the Queen will get a bit giddy one day and try and take it back, they'll be stupid not to accept the offer, they're so confused the play football with their hands! you'd think they'd pick up on the clue thats in its name!

Part of the problem, in my opinion, is that the unfortunate truth is that the majority of people are pretty head-slappingly thick and media advertising and our mindless celebrity consumer culture means that most people's ambitions encompass becoming a celebrity and/or lottery winner someday soon with everything on a plate in the meantime, to a higher or lesser degree. There's also a good cycle of being unwittingly spoon fed bullsheet and then happily regurgitating it as an entirely unfounded personal opinion. Moral values are generally out the window as they tend to limit one's personal freedom and constrained hedonism is a no-no. When people are yearning for something completely unrealistic their whole lives and expect to do as they please without any consequences it's no wonder so many become bitter and angry at life and join in with the cycle of perpetuating other peoples' misery too.

Nothing's entitled, If you want to achieve anything in life decide what it is and work bloody hard for it!

The other day, I was working from home sorting out some legal doodads and mrs jaize had the magic picture box on. I was alerted to the fact I was chewing my own fist and had realised it was in response to Fiona Phillips(?) interviewing some politician. She is a plank of the highest order and seems to be the human form of the Daily Mail.

The combination of partisan media, soundbite concentration spans and a results table based education system are really tipping this country down the pan.

it is a personal attack. i cannot believe that mattius' post was accepted by people. The comments he made were completely unacceptable, and in clear breach of Sokker rules:

• to post or present material that is designated as illegal on this family-oriented site (i.e. to present any racist, fascist...)

and yes, my post maybe was also in breach to some degree, but i think there is a clear difference.

i will NOT ignore comments of the sort posted, even if it does result in a ban in future. if this site is willing to tolerate that sort of post then i will be happy to be disassociated from it. i might also point out that there are a large number of users of sokker who are non-english but living there and have england teams. many of them are popular members of the england sokker forum community. considering the origins of this game, mattius may want to think more carefully before posting.
