The Billionaire....what a silly idea. No idea of why but maybe NCN can shed some light?
Oh and Ipswich are looking to sign a Greek International striker as well....not a golden day for the Canaries imo.

he wanted to give the club 20 million for players, but wanted control of the club in exchange.
the club is valued at 16 million, and has debts of 16 million.
they all met up decided there was no legal way that they could do what peter cullum wanted, and he didn't want to make an offer to all shareholders.

the valuation is for the shares in the club, but yes, it's effectively worth nothing.
apparently, it very nearly did. but they couldn't do it without triggering some clause that says he has to offer to buy out all shareholders, and he didn't offer to buy out all shareholders.
it's probably not the end of it. quite a feq people up here don't like delia or her hubby very much - when someone like her can become a villain, who would run a football club ?

Poor Delia, lets be having her! ;)
Football is not a profit making business I'm afraid, she'll have to sell more Pies at the ground......
Whats worse for you is that Glenn Roeder is in charge for what will be his first full season....did I tell you about his First Full Season record?
I also think Ipswich will have a good season especially if they sign the Greek striker who I rate. (Christeas or something like that!)

I am sure thats the chap, he looked really good if it was him, certainly a very good player for the Championship, especially if James Beattie can score for fun.

Well he scored 3 and finished in the team of the tourney in 2004. Always quite liked him ever since I had him on CM 01/02.

Well it clearly is him and would be a huge coup for Ipswich if it happens!
They have a chairman who is looking to get to the Premiership, he would get to take massive interest payments out of the club he bought for pocket change, so yes, I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to buy them some success with purchases this summer. The fact is that Wolves have spent millions and millions in the past and only got out of the Championship once, so spending money isn't a guarantee of success.
I'd be amazed if we got relegated from this league though, there are always some very poor sides in the bottom 6, and for a long time last season we were one of them. We can't possibly be that poor again.
Ironically, I think that this big investor turning up might be a win-win situation for the fans. Now that they've turned this fella down (who basically wanted Delia to walk away with nothing), they know that they have to invest in the team in order to placate the fans. Anything else will result in the kind of scenes that removed the last chairman, I can't see Delia hanging around for very long if that occurs.
There has been a virtual radio silence on transfers for us so far, I get the feeling that the permananet signings will all be unveiled at once, maybe in the next couple of weeks. And there may be a couple of surprises in the list too.

I would think you'll be trying to get a couple of loan signings from the Prem at least knowing Roeder. Possibly even a couple of our youngsters down at west Ham there are some good ones coming through right now.
We've already got Bertrand in for next season from Chelsea, he's a nice little player - Roeder knows Frank Arnesen from his playing days apparently. He's also likely to get one in from Arsenal, apparently Roeder was going to be director of football there before he got our job. Well connected for a bloke who keeps getting relegated :). We had Kieran Gibbs last time, who didn't really settle very well, and wasn't big enough to compete, being only 17. Of course, Prem loan signings are no guarantee of success, I'd settle for Iwelumo from Chalrton, maybe Sibierski as an impact player, Stefanovic from Fulham, another striker and a decent right-back to get the numbers up before the loans come in.
But we'll have to see what the summer brings.

Well at west Ham so far we have just a 19 yr old unknown from Iceland to date.....I don't expect much except outgoings to be honest, looks like Zamora and Painsil are off to Fulham so far.
Fulham seem to be a good place to go if you don't make it at another London club :). I'd expect most of the transfer stuff to happen late July to be honest, as Euro 2008 pushes the top players on another 4 weeks, and everything ripples down from the top, e.g. if Ronaldo leaves Man Utd, Man Utd have 70 million to spend, which goes to 4 or 5 clubs (Maybe some to West Ham for Ashton ?), who buy other players, and so on.
