I had a stag weekend in Ireland over the weekend....I went to Cork and was seriously shocked to find it was more expensive than London which I avoid as much as possible.

Oh and also the cab drivers over there are crooks. In most pubs they would not allow us in....definately a place I would not revisit.

Cab drivers double as bouncers?

when enforcing the 50 quid no-vomit rule, absolutely.

Not to self: leave taxi before attempting to enter licensed premises - increased success rate and saves on taxi driver danger money.

Seriously though, each cab driver went a different route to the town. The cheapest was 5.5 euros, and the most expensive for the same journey was 14 euros! It was a joke, nobody was that drunk unfortunately as most could not afford to be. lol

The add ons varied from 2 euros up to a rediculous 5 euros on one trip to the town. I for one will not be going to Ireland any time soon. Anybody fancy a pint of Guiness for over 5 euros? Apparently Dublin is worse at over 6 euros a pint.

Oh and 2 medium McDonalds meals for 16 Euros!!!!!

went to Dublin for 4 days for my 2nd anniversary... turns out we could have had a week in Jamaica for less than we spent in total - rained every day and anything you want to do costs a bloody fortune!

there is a graveyard in cork where every grave has my family name on it. kinda spooky (for me) going there when i was about 12
