2008-09-10 23:57:16
Windass? Ken what you been taking?
2008-09-10 23:59:50
He plays for Hull dont he.
2008-09-11 00:04:11
and?
2008-09-11 01:29:20
Why pick Windass, he hasn't played in the prem for years barring what a sub appearance 2 weeks ago.
2008-09-11 10:01:10
Windass is still oxford's highest fee they have paid for one player, something like 10 years on. Take from that what you will.
2008-09-11 11:53:00
that he was worth some cash 10 years ago?
2008-09-11 12:05:07
Leave Ken alone:-) you all know Windass is really better than torres even though he cant make the Hull starting 11
2008-09-11 15:33:04
Maybe if Torres was 41 as well you would have a fair point....you have to admire people like Sherringham and Windass who play at such a level so late in their lives.

As soon as I hit 30 my knees started playing up terribly! Then again I never had access to the physios they have. lol
2008-09-11 15:42:41
c'mon, that's harsh on Sheringham to mention Windass in the same breath...
2008-09-11 15:43:45
well they both played at a decent level until their 40's....apart from goalies I cannot think of many others who have done it.
2008-09-11 15:51:43
I've always seen Windass as a decent championship player who had a knack for being in the right place - Now, maybe if he'd had a few less pies...

..whereas Sheringham played at the very top level, and played well at that level right up to his 40's.

Am I imagining it or didn't Des Walker play on for a fair while?
2008-09-11 15:52:52
You are right of course....not sure about Des Walker though.
2008-09-11 16:00:20
isn't Google a wonderful thing...

...he was born in November '65 and played until the end of 2003/4 season, so I make that 38 - not at all bad for a defender as you can't really get way it like a striker can.
2008-09-11 21:48:06
Des Walker came back to Forest and then (I think) went to Burton Albion for a season. That might have been before he came back though! We had him at the back with Michael Dawson from what I remember. Forest must have a knack for that - we signed Richard Gough from some retirement home MLS team and he played a season and then went on to be signed by Everton and have 2 more seasons in the premiership!!

Yeah, and Torres' surname doesn't sound like a fart.
