Subject: Contracted employees

2008-09-30 16:33:48
I wouldn't know what a xmas bonus is like since i didn't even have a rise with inflation in 2.5 years in my old job. Bit worrying your contractual dispute has gone as high as director level though

Apparently I'm considered a maverick anyway, so hey ho, let's see what the fall out is.
2008-09-30 22:49:29
if it makes you feel any better i havent had a pay rise since nov 2006.
2008-09-30 22:54:17
Wasn't that when you joined sokker? ;)
2008-09-30 23:07:15
you would think with all the money them bankers get they will have prevented this crisis wouldnt you?
2008-10-01 09:09:32
Why do you think they were getting the money?
2008-10-01 11:12:39
So far, we've always had pay rises in June each year and a bonus at Christmas and occasionally April, but the rumour mill has started to suggest that those can no longer be taken for granted..
2008-10-01 15:43:51
they get paid way too much money and they cant do their jobs properly.
2008-10-01 17:08:43
they were doing their jobs fine, the problem wasn't them it was the economic system and the free marke economy
2008-10-01 18:06:49
Well, at least it lasted 20 years longer than communism.

I guess the Chinese model is the way forward from now on ?

And the oopsy-daisy effect from selling mortgages to people that clearly couldn't pay them, and then trading that 'asset' with other banks. And then writing the debt off. And then refusing to lend money to anyone, including other banks. And then realising there was a huge cash flow problem and that assets on paper weren't much good for paying staff. And then folding. There are exceptions of course... When London Airport/Stanstead etc grinding to a halt is on the cards; urgent government intervention tends to materialise.

that is communism!
2008-10-01 23:05:20
its communism with a rampant free market economy.

in other words, do what you like as long as we can be in charge.
