Yes but only because they now have more money than anybody else....and any player that goes there knows that....you see how much wages they will have to pay to attract players. All that does is make things worse for the fans imo.
Brighton have just knocked them out of the cup...i guess it's not quite as plain sailing as the fans had hoped!
They haven't spent 200 - 300m yet though..........

You aren't wrong there. Manc C fans will soon stop crowing to the other side of town when their kids kit hits £300 and they have to choose between a season ticket or a car...

Its a real shame, I went to West Ham once last season with my wife and 2 kids....my daughter is too young at the moment. It cost us nigh on £250 just for the tickets.....its an obscene amount really.
Here in Israel a season ticket costs around 1100 shekels which is about 150GBP.
Now, even if we consider Israel's relative ranking in world football, both NT and teams compared to England, I believe that the football authorities in the UK have not done enough to control ticket prices. It's one thing selling teams to foreign investors and allowing them to go public, but screwing the audience/fans with such high-noon robbery prices is ludicrous. No team is worth, even to the most avid fan, such a huge percentage of their annual income.

and yet they still pay...
If there was a fan strike it might shake things up a bit.

A fan strike will only screw the small clubs up.
Tourists and rich people will keep filing ManU and Chelsea stadiums.

In that case, maybe they should all piss of to the Euro super league and we can all get proper footie back...
Hardly a con of a penalty. If Gerrard hadn't tried to jump over Morgan's lunge he'd have spent a fortnight in hospital. It was awarded for intent, not the contact.
Pick the bones from the following that weren't first choice at the time:
Gonzalez, Kromkamp; Sissoko, Zenden, Aurelio; Fowler, Pennant, Bellamy.
All played a part in the game.

Do me a favour please if penalties were given for intent everytime we would have 5/6 penalties every game.I didn't realise referee's had become mind readers.
That was a poor choice of words by adamc. The word was not 'intent' but 'failed attempt' (to break someone's leg) and for that the offending player should have been punished.
No, he had the word spot on. A referee can give a foul for intent, this includes a penalty, but he would have to be sure that the player lost his opportunity to play the ball as a result of getting out of the way of the tackle.
