Subject: Profurol matchreports

the biggest complaint from the england profurgol community has been the poor quality of the match reports. this is in part due to errors in the translation, but also down to the style of commentary. i have now been made a translator, tasked with editing the english text. i will concentrate first and foremost on the match reports, before looking at the rest of the game.

since you are the people who will be reading the reports, your input will be vital in making the game more enjoyable. to start the ball rolling i have a couple of general stylistic questions:

1. Do you want the reports in the past or present tense?

2. Do you want typical british commentary style, or clinical professional BBC website style reports?

personally, i prefer present tense commentary with a bit of character, but i will go with the general opinion on this one. please post your thoughts here. once i have made the first run through i will ask for more input. cheers

edit: would be good to get everyone's opinion, even if you do not play the game... maybe once we get the match reports right you will be tempted to have a go!

p.s. watch out for commentary in the style of "and he hoofs it over the bar... is he one of wd40's players on loan?"

That would be quality if you put references like that in. Rubbish game though!

but as a text based game it is mostly poor due to the match reports. there are other elements that will hopefully improve over time, but at least this way it will be fun to read the reports, which is the main element.

fair play to the admins, who have suggested that spicing things up with a little english humor would be a great idea! this should be fun :)

Surely they'll be after a refund after an unexpected dose of Welsh-Austrian humour.

That would be the default Austrian option; but mind you don't speak to them in Welsh.
