as a liverpool fan from being a faetus, i am disheartened, i saw phil babb defend better than hyypia and agger combined tonight. well done spurs though, played some nice football. although i only heared liverpool fans sing, i heared a few 'were going to wembley's' from spurs but thats about it, are the prawn sandwiches free in london? only joking, el zhar is decent.

this is the carling cup we're talking about, right ? I'd imagine the Liverpool players were thinking more about their joint 2nd position in the Premiership, it's a long season.

I just expected more from players that should be fighting to be in the first team. Babel and Torres looked embarassed. The others just shrugged their shoulders.

I like Wengers' approach to the league cup. Letting the youth team play gives them a chance to measure themselves against league clubs.

They are also bloody good youngsters to be fair!

Some of them are English and british too now which is a lot better than years gone back.

It's just another tinpot trophy that just congests fixtures. Non league have the setanta shield and a win in the 3rd round gets the club £2000. We have a player who's weekly wage is more than that and the game was attended by 300 fans, half from oxford. To try and make it appealing, however, there is a rule that states you must include in your squad 10 players that either played or was a substitute in your last 2 league games. That would screw arsenal a bit wouldn't it?

I am not an Arsenal fan as you kjnow, but I would happily see West Ham do the same as sometimes its more fun watching youngsters who care more....certainly in games like the CC.

i dont like the way liverpool get these poor poor foreign players like degan and dossena when you can try out a home grown lad who will probably die to get a chance to play for the club, i like the fact wenger has got some nice british players, especialy wilkshire, he looks special

y'see, it bothers me that the big 4 can just poach youngsters from other club for practically nothing. But at the same time, they can offer the players the best education. I guess the best thing for all would be if the big clubs offered some kind of sell on fee or targetted bonuses for the teams they buy from. but they don't.
