I can still read it!

That was your plan all along though, you didn't want me to change it. Ban for that.
2008-12-05 09:37:02
have you a nice scar to regale folk with?
2008-12-05 09:40:50
How does one "regale folk"? Or is it another edge of the cliff, 'what to do' scenario?
Pray tell O jaize...
2008-12-05 09:44:13
er, it makes sense perfectly. It doesn't even need illustrating - although anyone wanting to draw a picture of RedJim with his leg sliced open is most welcome.

regale - a sumptuous feast, a choice tidbit.

folk - people

regale folk - present folk with aforementioned tidbit for the purposes of entertainment... simple really.

jaize, one does NOT regale folk with a scar!
One might regale folk with talk/tales/songs of/about a scar(s)

Other than that, do continue.

Wrestny.....

I never thought I would fancy RedJim, but...

tetanus jabs are just a scam to make drugs companies richer. It's a conspiracy !!!
2008-12-05 12:31:51
They are all rich......
2008-12-05 12:35:43
from here...

"Heck, there are only something like 5 cases of tetanus per year in the entire U.S., and the major risk factors are IV drug use, major burns, and stasis ulcers in the elderly. I only saw 2 cases in my very intensive medical training, both major (>50% whole body) burns. Most docs have never seen it."

I think the point is that it is an easily treated disease that is down to 5-10 cases a year these days and is hardly fatal any more. If we didn't protect against it, it would become a lot more popular. It is after all a soil-borne bacterium and we have quite a lot of soil...

Don't tell me you are one of those parents that opted out of the MMR?
2008-12-05 12:57:02
"Popular"?
2008-12-05 13:03:00
Indeed. I figure if Coronation St, Eastenders, KFC, Primark and Lidl are all popular than so can tetanus be.
2008-12-05 13:03:23
Definitely didn't opt out of MMR. I'm not crazy !

and regarding the "we've all been immunised and thats why no-one gets it" argument...

"Tetanus is a very rare disease in developed countries: there are only about 12 cases of tetanus per year in Australia, and half of those who got it were vaccinated. Perhaps the most interesting thing about tetanus is that those who get it do not develop immunity to it.........Far from immunising, tetanus (and other) vaccine injections make the recipients more susceptible to diseases. ......the New England Journal of Medicine published in 1984 that tetanus booster injections result in the same derangement of T4 and T8 cells as seen in AIDS patients. A 'mysterious' new syndrome emerged in the US: thousands of children are developing AIDS symptoms (with deranged T4 and T8 cells) without being HIV positive My well-considered opinion is that it comes from that T (standing for tetanus) in the DPT vaccine."---
