Hello there,
My father used to rave about Blackadder whenever he could rave, and he still does, actually. I remember him saying at one point that it was better than Monty Python. Frankly, I don't know if I have to agree or disagree with that, as I think they're not really comparable. Only that's a lie, because I do disagree with him, since Blackadder use a laugh tape.
As we all know, laugh tapes are an invention of the devil's ugly little brother, made to insult our intellect because I, for one, can figure out for myself when something is funny and when something is not.
Anyway, this thread is about Blackadder. I've read about the 1999 film Blackadder "Back and Forth" on the internet (I've not seen it yet), and is it really as disappointing as some say it is?
I'd like to know.

Blackadder is a God! It is not only better than Monty Python, it is as you say "not really comparable".
Of the four series, the last one, 'Blackadder goes forth' was actually the best one, culminating in a sort of British humour triumph. It is fabulous. Your father is obviously more knowledgeable than you and in this particular case I would strongly recommend you take his advise.
The devil's little brother, the devil's little unsuccessful brother is Baldrick, Blackadder's sidekick, however the devil's own dark side is Blackadder himself!

Back and forth is about the time machine and it's only one chapter and ends with Blackadder at his rightful place on the British throne. Sorry about the confusion. :)
Weee got something new to watch. Got through probably everything that Monty Python has ever created. Was thinking about some of Rowan Atkinson's series ...the one taking place in army was quite funny, can't remember the name though...black viper? something like that...
no. the best of Monty Python is truly brilliant, but a lot of their series' were total ratball.

I'll try traveling back in time. It might destroy the world "Back to the Future"-style, but if I can see Blackadder without the annoying laugh tapes, it'll be worth it.
