On the 'Dodgy Foreigner Scale' you are about 3/10... I should know!
- People who say/write "could of" instead of "could've"
- People not knowing how/when to use there/the're/their
- People saying off of, instead of from
- People using stood when they should use standing.
- Incorrect use of was/were.
- Double negatives - I ain't done nuffing
- Stupid people claiming they're dyslexic
- Xmas instead of Christmas. I'm not religious, in fact I'm an atheist, but I can't stand the use of Xmas.
I'll add a "few" to that list....
- A pacific example, instead of specific.
- People getting bought and brought mixed up.
- People asking if they can lend money from you, grr it's borrow.
- Incorrect use of your/you're.
- Mispelling of were/where.
- People using are instead of our.
- People who say aks/aksed, or arx/arxed, instead of ask/asked.
- The term "always gives 110%, it's impossible, GRRR.
Lastly though, and this is probably one that everyone get's wrong, is saying can instead of may

110% is not impossible!
You have ten oranges, I give you another one, what is the percentage of the original do you now have?
If you now give me all the oranges, how much have you given..?
but I know what you mean; I even quite often use, "that'll learn ya!" myself, although I never mix up can and may, that one really, really annoys me, like, a lot, innit.

The pacific/specific one interests me the most. I had a very intelligent and well spoken college lecturer once who did it, it baffled me but it's quite common. I have never understood how they can be mixed up.
On of the top bosses at my place does it too and totally blanks me when I point it out at every opportunity.
Am I being atlantic/pedantic?

English speaking countries are notorious for high levels of dyslexia due to the irregularity of the grammar and spelling.
Polish may be more complicated, but I bet it's more regular

Probably atlantic. It's funny because i laughed and made a comment to someone sat next to me and they too gave me the blank treatment.

Apparently this isn't an error - it is simply different usages in north and south England - it predates the modern English language.
