I am guessing that since a beginner teacher in this country gets nearly nothing, in Poland a young teacher might hope to get something like two carp a month and as much grass as you can eat?

Something like that. It's roughly about 900zl, which is 225€. You can rent a room for that and probably get to live to the end of the month, I'm not sure though.

As far as I can understand you, it's incorrect to say: "I'm studying English" because you must add "language" on the end of the sentence, right?

That's weird because as I think back to the past all my teachers used to say like this :-/

It depends on context. If you were talking about language and said it, it would be assumed that you were meaning language and it would be fine.

If you just walked into a room and said it, it would be strictly incorrect but to be honest everyone would know what you mean anyway!
