Are you serious? Some let them make such an 'ad' in the tube? How long did it stay up?
Looking into it - it seems to be from California. Some say it was a psychology experiment. Some say photoshopped. I say Americans :3

The second kid from the left seems Mexican so it can in fact be USA...

I know what it means in general...But how to explain this for example:
Don't take offence
Put yourself in my shoes
Take notice
Put a stop to smth...
It's so simple in English but so complicated in Croatian :/

I see what you mean :). You need someone cleverer than me. Jaize perhaps.
Yea,but i don't have any more time...and it isn't for me,it's for my friend :)
lol, haha, not sure about that!
basically the verbs to put and to take are totally different and opposite in their simplest terms. To put - place; to take - remove. Easy.
Now it all goes a bit wrong as both of these are part of the group now known as "hot verbs". They were know by a variety of different terms such as placeholder verbs, vacuous verbs or meaningless verbs which just about sums them up.
Basically they are verbs that have many and varied meanings entirely dependant upon context. In English we have loads of them and more and more are joining all the time. Most recently I think the verb "to borrow" has become a hot verb in that it correctly mean to take temporary use of someone elses stuff with permission and now seems to mean "to lend" amongst a widespread section of the more chavvy community.
Like lots of English grammar and usage the only way to learn these verbs and their usage is to, well, just learn them!
I hope that helped "your friend".

Borrow and lend have always had the opposite meanings in parts of England - in the north mainly. The usage is recorded back as far as records go apparently.
Did not know you were a language expert , sir! ;)
Really clear explanation though. Are you a teacher??? :O

No. Architecture is my mistress, English Literature and Grammar is my dominatrix.
Im a teacher, and I didnt know all that!! Very embarassing :/
In my defence, I work mainly with pre school children, so when it comes to literacy, I am mostly focussing on the development of their speech rather than the technical side of the English language

Don't feel bad, teachers are some of the most stupid people I know! ;-)
