Something very funny happened to me the other day. University. The subject is death in ancient times. Class is important for the way people were buried. The teachers asked whether or not there were still visible class divisions in modern day Netherlands. I said I thought so, and went on to explain it. "But you're an outsider! Now please someone from The Netherlands." I said I was Dutch. "But you've got a perfect American accent!" Ouch. (For the record, she was from the States.)

It means that the team is winning due to the oppositions poor play and not through good play of their own.
It seemed logical, but I couldn't find a reasonable entry about this in any dictionary - thanks a lot!
I'm translating a series of shorts films, can you please help me a bit, because I can't really understand what mr. Hunter mutters under his nose from time to time...

up in the gods? if so what does it mean?
and what does he mean by 'sunken surface'? I know that he means the pitch, but sunken?

"sunken surface" he means that the pitch is right down below...trying to emphasize how high up the journalist watch from.
thanks for the sunken, as for the first one I got the 'Camp Nou', I meant the part right after it :)
