Don't be revolting Darling jaize, I wouldn't take anything out of your willy [...]if it was glazed in honey! However you might be just lucky enough to utilise the unexpected interest expressed by ncn to get all sorts of "fringe" benefits.

if you look further up this thread you will see that it is the current fashion to remove one's "fringe".

You lot are far too sophisticated for the likes of me.
2009-03-08 20:09:21
that is mainly because your fringe is in place automatically when your mum cuts around the bowl on your head at haircut time.

It's part of the 'Black Russian' costume! :)

Some help needed. Finish the sentence:

It's an interesting/final/good/important/key/main/turning ....?

Any other option thant point?

2) Fixed phrases ['] - as many as possible
.... the point ...
.... a point ...
.... one point ...
.... your point...

Any ideas?

the only option in that structure is just point.

you could of course use any of it's synonyms.

opinion, assessment, assumption, attitude, conception, conclusion, conjecture, estimate, estimation, fancy, feeling, guess, hypothesis, idea, imagining, impression, inclination, inference, judgment, mind, notion, persuasion, point of view, postulate, presumption, presupposition, reaction, say-so, sentiment, slant, speculation, supposition, surmise, suspicion, take, theorem, theory, thesis, thought, view, viewpoint

that sort of stuff.

:) and the 2nd part?
2009-03-09 00:12:51
not sure what you are asking...
2009-03-09 00:19:39
.... the point ...
.... a point ...
.... one point ...
.... your point...

Well I don't really know what to do with those. The task is "Think of as many fixed phrases as possible".

I think it's like...prove your point,have a point, etc?
2009-03-09 00:21:32
Like these?

What's the point of that?
At the end of the rugby match only a point separated the teams.
We only need one point to win the league
What's your point then?

I think so...

Help please...I'm so fed up with reading dozens of articles about gender differences that I'm unable to make a decent statement :/

Men and women have different abilities in learning, and dissimilar ways of obtaining knowledge and because of this phenomenon some assessment types turn out to be gender biased, which might be the reason why the male part of students is underachieving.

Any idea on how to make it more 'smooth'?

How about, "Birds and blokes think different, learn different, are different. Blokes are easily distracted by birds at school and so are crappy at learning and destined to collect trolleys in carparks."

Trouble is though - most of the decent jobs end up going to badly educated men.
