Subject: The Worst Thing About Football

wilts1 [del] to All
As this is appears to be a forum to discuss 'non Sokker matters', I thought I would start a thread to see what fellow football fans thought about what the worst thing about football is.

Whether it is teams being docked points for going into administration, whilst those responsible get off scot-free, or club chairmen/directors lining their pockets at the expense of the club (I support Swindon so I could write a book on owners who have diddled us!) or 'Walter Mitty' characters like Stephen Beer (either Google him or go to the Terra's Talk website) I'd like to know what thing about the beautiful game do you dislike the most?

Oh dear, we have just fallen out! I am an avid oxford fan! You scummers could be playing us next season if a miracle happens! ;-) to keep things on topic, the worst thing about football is clearly swindon.

doughnut_jimmy you have never been too accurate me-ol-mucka but that's definitely not the worst thing about football. Without a shadow of doubt the worst thing is examining the forums first thing in the morning and having to check several inane threads started by a typical Swindon fan. pish!

The worst thing about football is the money involved, it has corrupted the once beautiful game imo.

defo...
and it's sad the EPL is leading the way. We wont have much of a champion's league soon if not already...

The coverage of Sky of the Premiership was fantastic when it first happened, little did we all know it would lead to the money involved these days.

Why?

Worst thing in football is 2 footed lunges, I'm surprised more players haven't had their legs broken this season.

Tackling is a skill and if you're good at it, you don't need to leave your feet, just timing, I think Cattermole is the worst for it, he must have done quite a few in his career already.

worst thing about football is the unloyalness of pathetic little, glory hunting, money grabbing nancy boys. As well as 'fans' who have no idea what they're talking about oh and ronaldo of course.

Players diving / going down too easily! (Interpret that in any way you want!)

oooooo fighting talk :P

Nah, I don't mind Oxford too much. You've had your fair share of trouble with Kassam, like we've had with previous chairmen. I hope you bounce back - maybe next year it'll be your turn to go back up.

I don't think we'll go down - Yeovil, Brighton, Hereford and Cheltenham are most likely to go down and I reckon we'll finish above Northampton and Orient (maybe even Crewe). However, we need to buck our ideas up and hopefully Danny boy can work wonders for us.

Rog, apologies if they got on your nerves.

The worst thing is the never-ending super-detailed analysis of every miniscule event in the football world by the media, and hence fans, when it really doesn't matter at all.

And Derby.
