It's blown the title race wide open!
2009-03-24 05:55:09
It's not quite wide open, if Manu win their game in hand it puts them 4 clear, and United have all the experience of being in a close title race, I'm not sure many of the Liverpool players have ever been in that situation, as of 2 weeks ago, 'pool weren't really in a title race, it'll be interesting to see how they react after the internationals of being able to go above United.

While I'm not ruling Liverpool out, I still see United as the strong favourites for the title.

A lot of the Liverpool's players have extensive international and high level experience.
A lot of them have been involved in the WC, Euro, Champion's League games... I'm not saying they will do it but they can certainly cope with the intensity and the pressure of the current situation.

I think at the end of the day, the better prepared team will win it (logistically, mentally, physically)

I think that L'Pool's short bench will be the coffin nail. One real class striker only, lots of games to play. Benitez made a huge mistake when he sold Keane and failed to buy anyone.
2009-03-24 13:10:18
It was Parry's fault for not signing a striker when Keane was sold. Too much haggling on the price and eventual bending over while waiting for the sale before signing a replacement.

Last time I looked though. Torres didn't score against Villa.

Manyoo might have to rely on Tevez and Ronaldo against Villa as Rooney is suspended and Berbatov currently injured. No Scholes. No Vidic. Ronaldo playing for himself.

It's not a forgone conclusion, but if they don't beat Villa and Liverpool beat Fulham. Liverpool will be top and Fergie relying on his usual favour from Potatohead.

Fergie relying on his usual favour from Potatohead.

Er, Fergie wants to borrow Mr PotatoHeads' nose ?
