DanVan1 [del] to All
I'll forget about this otherwise as I'm away all weekend, but for those who want a laugh*, I'm part of a team of ex-student tenpin bowlers that take on the Eggheads this Monday, 6pm BBC2. Or on BBC iPlayer for those who want to admire/mock me me for the week after. It should be obvious which of the handsome chaps on show is me - whether that's in my favour of not remains to be seen. :)

* Laugh not guaranteed

Are you the one called Dan?
2009-05-09 09:34:43
An early candidate for the title of my worst-selling autobiography.

A ten-pin bowler geek; sounds like me. What was/is your average?

Eggheads makes me laugh, please pick CJ and beat him.

Preferably with a big stick, till he is a pulpy mess.

Jeremy Paxman is awesome.
2009-05-09 23:09:05

2009-05-10 09:49:29
asking the same question a lot of times.

My bowling average is a laughable 163, because I'm not very good (and that's being kind). Have finally reached the point where I'm going to seek coaching or retire - leaning towards the former because the social side of the game makes it worthwhile. Had a tournament in Macclesfield this weekend and was quite rubbish, but it's still enjoyable.

I met CJ a couple of years ago at a Countdown tournament (that's where people meet up to play Countdown for fun, seriously). He was, in all honesty, the perfect gentleman. Completely humble when getting beat, he bought 10 of us two rounds of drinks in the pub after and hosted a 15-1 quiz for us too. It was amusing hearing the bbc staff slating him, and he seems to irk every Eggheads viewer I know, but that's all part of the fun.

Hope anyone who catches the show enjoys it. :)

just pretend you are playing darts, that would be a great average then!

Is CJ really that orange?
2009-05-11 14:08:30
He's not as orange as the shirt I'll be wearing - hope that helps.

A clue! Surely the "Hello, I am Dan Van" would have been a giveaway enough?

How did you know I said that?! Are you really CJaize de Mooi?
