Imran [del] to
All
I know, I know. No biscuits here. I do apologise.
So now that we (Notts County) are among the richest clubs in the continent, how long do you think it will be until we are righfully restored as the best team in Nottingham?
How long after that will it be until we are the best club in the East Midlands?
I realise that the Big 2 is probably out of reach, but I think a Champions League place within 6 years is probably a reasonable ask.

Hmm. Made up bloke called Imran. Supports Notts County. Who have been taken over by Saudi Arabian billionaires.
It's almost like you predicted it.
12 months is my guess, the other lot are pretty dire.

Call it wishful thinking if you like. There has never been much to shout about for a while.
If we anticipate promotion this and next season, that puts us in the Championship along with forest and Derby (assuming they don't get relegated... they certainly wont get promoted). A mid table finish in our first season there, putting us ahead of forest, then a top 2 finish the next season taking us up. 4 years so far.
Then I don't think it's too much to ask for a top 10 place in the first season, given the money we will have, and aiming for a top 4 place in the 6th year.

You could be ahead of them in the table in 15 months. Forest could relegate, looking likely unless they spend too. I wouldn't get too carried away with Premiership thoughts at the minute though - the Championship is a beggar to get through - ask Cartman.

The official plan released by the board is to become a solid Championship team in 4 years I think.
The aim of every Championship team is promotion.
Regarding forest, there are internal Nottingham rumblings that Sheepish Billy will be sacked before the summer finished.

There was a running forum joke in the local press message board for about 5 years that people had seen Carl Cort in the local Asda, whenever summer came around and it came to transfer rumours.
We signed him last January.
Some times these things are ideas whose time is yet to come.

I always assumed Carl Cort is more of an Aldi man.
His finishing is very Poundland though...
Actually, is there such a thing as a 50p shop?

At least you think big Imran !
Right, that's it, I'm off to spread rumours of an imminent take-over By Sheik Muhammed Al Toilet-Duck from Bahrain.

The owners are more likely to get bored of the view of the cattle market and Eastcroft incinerator within 6 years and ditch the club, sooner than get it to the Premiership.
I'd be good if County got to the stage where they could give us (Forest) a game - its always been a bit of a nothing local derby for the last 20-odd years ;-)

Using the Liverpool City Council model of a few years ago, wouldn't it just be easier to knock the two stadium into one (apart from the Trent bit...) and just have one mediocre Nottingham team?
The mediocre part is sorted already; the planning application for the former is an interesting concept.
As an aside - it's interesting that Notts County are in fact on the city side of the River Trent (the river being the border between the Nottingham City Council and Rushcliffe Borough Council) and that Forest, who play at the City Ground, are on the County side of the river.
Anyway, there you go.

Have the boundaries changed since the Magpies (mini-magpies) were formed way back in 800BC or whenever it was..?
i heared somewhere that juventus only got the idea of their kit from notts county.
and athletico bilbao play in red and white because they were founded by some miners from sunderland.

I believe that Juve thing to be at least partly true. Previously they played in pink, which they retained for the keeper at least as a nod to their pink past. The bit about the stripes that I heard, which seems less and less credible as I type, is that Juve were accidentally sent a consignment of shirts originally meant for Nottingham County and had no choice but to wear them.
