Subject: Dexter

Anyone watch Dexter? I bought the missus the first series on DVD for her birthday, and we've just finished it. Awesomeness. Can't wait to get the second series. However, I have one question that I'd like you guys to try and answer.

What sort of hat does Angel wear?



I've been looking at hats, and I can't decide if it's a fedora, trilby, or something else entirely.

It is a medium brimmed panama with a hat band. Angel is currently wearing it in the American style, i.e. back to front.

It is such an ugly hat that it doesn't really matter.
It looks like Carmen Miranda's field mouse cousin.


Now this (!!!) is a proper hat...

Now, my hat-recognition skills are roughly on a par with my dog-recognition skills (ie severely lacking) but that doesn't look like the panamas I can find on google.

Are you a hatologist, Jaize, or did you just guess (I actually had you down as one of the key respondents in this thread, so I'm leaning towards you being right and my hat-recognition skills being worse than I thought)?

I do have quite a few hats, yes. In fact it is not that often that I go out without one on.

Curiously panama hats were made in Equador originally. His style is more like the North American ones that are not so much for keeping the sun out of your eyes and drying your brow but for fashion. Apart from the material it is verging towards a pork pie hat, the domain of the bon viveur and jazz man-about-town.

The gf and I have Sky Plussed the 2nd series and have just started watching it - tis as good as the first so far, surprising really as you'd have thought it'd end up being samey.

proper one - order online at pachacuti, look for the narrow brimmed panamas (fedora shape). Some nice colours there.

cheap one - TK Max(sp?) do a range.

Hats shmats, Dexter is one of the best series to hit our screens in a very long time. Season Two edges it slightly for me because of Lila. And her nudist tendencies.

Probably my favourite programme on TV right now. Season 3 was ok, slow build, doesn't quite match up to the other two, apart from the scene on the rooftop. Season 4 starts end of September, can't wait.
