Subject: English comedy series
Hello there guys.
I am just wondering if there are some new english comedy series that are worth a look.
I was a fan of monty python and blackadder since I was little and few years ago also "discovered" red dwarf and not long ago the it crowd.
Especially the last one is incredibly funny for me (and many others here as well, actually the series did spread like a disease here in Switzerland), maybe it is, because it is ridiculously easy to understand english (?), I don't know.
Well I wondered if there is something like this new on english TV that you could recommend.

The first three series' of little britain are fantastic, but the one in america is terrible.
I think only the first series was really good as it was different, the 2nd series started to get boring and by the 3rd series i think they had run out of steam....but yes the american one was dire.
yeah. cringeworthy, they had some rubbish characters on that one. you are right, the first series was the best.
"Black Books" was quite good, Dylan Moran is a very funny bloke, Bill Bailey is also in this, if you get the chance see either of them doing stand up. "Green Wing" was a really weird hospital / sitcom kind of thing, which might be worth a look.

The Inbetweeners is a good modern one. Pretty crude but very funny if you're under 25.
and less funny than cancer if you are over 25...
I'll second Green Wing.
Peep Show is a must see too.

Thanks guys, keep it coming :D It is quite sad that swiss guys do not really have humour ;)
Things I already know:
- Little britain (did already see that, and I agree that first series was fresh and sort of pythonesk, but then ideas were repeated over and over and at least for my taste it started to be boring)
- Stand up comedy by bill bailey (already seen some stuff of him, really funny)
The list of things I have to check out:
- Green wing
- Peep Show
- Black books
- My family
- Stand up comedy by Dylan moran
- The inbetweeners (although I am already 27 :D)

My Family goes downhill as soon as Nick leaves. He was by far the best character.
Probably a bit "past it" for The Inbetweeners then. Peep Show is a great shout.
I suspect you would like Father Ted. It's not an English comedy series as such as is based in Ireland. It is hilarious though.
Fawlty Towers is pretty good if you like the old classics.
gavin & stacey is awesome. and the first 2 series of Coupling were great. Fawlty Towers remains funny especially for python style humor fans.
harry and paul is brilliant
so is armstrong and miller.
highly reccomended says i.
