It depends on how you feel about Bob the Builder. If you can see Neil Morrisey as anything but, then it's ok.

Oh, and Peep Show is fantastic, That Mitchell And Webb Look is also worth a look, the blokes out of Peep Show try and do "A little bit of fry and laurie". Which is also brilliant.

Spaced, definitely fman !

Garth Marenghi's Dark Place is well worth a watch. Odd. You'll recognise the actors from the IT Crowd and other comedy stuff that's more recent.

Shameless is funny; but it's not a comedy as such

These are worth checking too, but you're probably better off with the more recent stuff -

Bottom - lowest common denominator comedy; but somehow still amusing even now

Bottom is funny just because Ade Edmondson is the worlds best comic fall guy, and Rik is the worlds best oik. You don't really need a script when you have that lineup.

It's true. Amusingly, my mum's husband is a dead ringer for him too. I've been meaning to see Ade Edmondson's band - they're touring at the moment.
