I've decided to give Savarin a chance even though it was the 17th cheese picked in the shortlist thread, as I'm not convinced that Dairylea triangles are a "proper" cheese. I figure by giving the triangles a chance to prove themselves against a proper gourmet cheese like yer savarin, an indication of the tournament as a whole may be given by this pre-tournament vote.

We'll keep this one short and sweet though, to end after the matches on Wednesday, in time for round 1.

Anyone know how to get these images to work ?

from wikipedia.

It is a triple cream Brie that is luscious, creamy and faintly sour. It goes well with medjool dates and also champagne. Because of its creaminess combined with its Brie aroma and slight sharpness, it has been described as "Dairylea for grownups" or "what Dairylea tastes like in heaven".

Dairylea Triangles even the name is reminiscent of some plastic American MSG filled, aluminum wrapped slug mush. Eeeiiewww.... yuck.

To ming and to be popular may, or may not, be mutually exclusive.

A victory for the common cheese.

it just sums up the fact that the proles should never get to make decisions...

Despite the clear bias in the the way the thread was set up (putting Savarin first in the title, misspelling Dairylea, only showing a picture of the Savarin, suggesting Dairlyea is not a proper cheese), the Triangles emerge victorious. Democracy lives.
I'm a bit worried they may have lost some of their cheesy edge for the main competition though, despite a relatively clear victory.

Democracy lives, or the good people of sokker are suckers for reverse psychology ? ;)

No they are not... or does that mean they are?

the outcome has clearly been dragged from the bottom...
Ah sacrilege!

At least people will remember the name of this cheese and if they come across it I hope they will try it and realise they were mighty wrong with this poll... it's not all negative :)

Who indeed will ever forget Dailrylea Triangles (sick) (sic)?
2009-07-10 09:29:57
I loves em, and voted for them with all my accounts. Make of that what you will.

I trust the several faces of Woppa will continue in like minds in the main contest?

We have Samson references in the foomen thread, so why not David and Goliath in the cheese thread?

Come on you 3-sided polygons..
