Who has seen the Bristol City v Crystal Palace game? If you haven't, Freddie Sears volleyed a shot, it went in, bounced of the base of the goal at the back, came out and was not given. Unbelievable!

yes,it is a disgrace and should have been given. every player on the pitch knew it went in, but the idiots in black didnt

oh well if anyone deserved it, neil warnock did ;)

I saw that on Match Of The Day... surely there was a 4th official?

There was, he didn't think it crossed either. Truly unbelievable, the reaction of both sets of players was probably enough to give it alone. A total disgrace.

1st the bristol players should of allowed a walk in.
2nd the ref should look at a tv screen for 5 seconds and see his mistake.
3rd how much more proof do you need that goal line technology is a good idea.

Why should the Bristol players have allowed a walk in? It's not their fault the refereeing team got it wrong.
Had the shoe been on the other foot, Warnock would have trotted out the old "it's one of those things" lines.
There was also a goal for Bristol City in that game that was wrongly disallowed for offside. What's the difference?

I agree that technology should be used more often, but it's not yet, Warnock will just have to suck it up. His reaction at the end of the game was puerile.

Warnocks reaction to a fried breakfast in the morning is puerile. Thats just what he is. Its why he works for blondie.

Sportsmanship seems a good enough reason for me. But the way the games going that's not even a quality wanted in the game now and managers would rather his players dive and feign injury than be honest. Warnocks reaction was funny, but the pressure managers are under he doesn't need ridiculous mistakes costing him 1 or maybe even 3 points. I remember back in the day when Kanu scored a goal when Arsenal was throwing the ball back to the other team after they kicked the ball out (due to lack of knowing the unwriten rules) the following day the FA made the quickest decision they have made in the agreement to have the match replayed, with todays players/managers that would never happen. Unfortunately it's bad times for football in this department.

That might have been because Warnock was moaning about that too - wasn't that against Sheff Utd ? :)
2009-08-17 22:10:05
yeah it was, but didnt warnock once tell his players to get sent off when they were down to 9 men to get the match abandoned? The mans a hypocrite, hence why noone listens to a word he says about anything. If that had happened to Ian Holloway, then most people would listen to what he said about it, because it would more than likely be hilarious.

It was Sheff U, but wasn't it Steve Bruce managing?

That's true, but as the officiating team incorrectly ruled out a goal for each side, the "ridiculous mistakes" have cost him one goal scored and have had no impact on goal difference or points.
