His strides are ridiculous. I bet if you counted how many strides others took in conparision to him there would be a massive difference. I've heard you get 10k everytime you break the world record so he just doing it bit by bit to make the most out of it, but i've been lied to before....

The female pole vaulter Isinbayeva has been doing that for ages, obviously that's a little easier to judge considering it can be increased by 1cm.

10 k is nothing compared to the advertising money he'll pick up. He's just marketing himself well.

he takes 40 strides in total to run the 100m. They worked it out (before last night) that doing that he runs at 40kmph. Not too shabby really. I think last night was his best - in the past he has cantered over the line but the American was always on his shoulder pushing him. Imagine the Amercian running 9.71 and still finishing 2nd by 2 metres!!

technology may contuinue to shave some time off for future records. loook at the huge impact the new body suit has had on swimming - seems like you only need to fall in the water to set a new record

you get a lot more than that and that wasn't a little bit - that was a huge leap in time!

yes. they banned the suit though.

maybe its time to reintroduce roman and greek style olympic wear ... would certainly boost viewing figures... sponsorship on womens volleyball would go though the roof!

Aye, and that stride length is a bonus in 20m, but it's always seen as a hindrance in the 100m as the start bit (where you take shorter strides to get up to speed) is proportionally longer in the 100m.

He's taking no drugs at all...just like the other guys.

Taking a leaf out of Sergey Bubka's book.

Yeah, you're probably right - I reckon Dwayne Chambers is probably clean now, but only because he's been caught before.

19.19 WR in 200m....totally awesome!

Bolt was winning junior championships all over the place for years and years - he's there because he's good. I truly believe that.

he's there because he's good?

what other reason could there be?

I also believe that. I think it is how his body is built that makes him dominate like this.
