When we enter our Olympic Football Squad, what would be the main XI? I cant think of any Scots, Welsh, or Northen Irish of the top of my head who would make it, apart from maybe Gordon or Boyd.
It's mainly a U-23 squad I think, or U-21, that would open things up immensely.
They are planning to get rid of the age barrier, if you can believe the papers
it could have a strong Welsh and English contingent
you would say that. the only reason i said Gordon and Boyd was because im part Scottish, and therefore know more about scottish players than other countries, apart from england
Would Northern Ireland get any players in?
he's 20, but i've not heard anything frm him in ages...
that is cos he has never won a match for spurs when playing :) They don't want to stop their nice run!
in that case i hope he plays next week against united ;p
It has been arranged that be exclusively English competing as GB
They're thinking of changing it to an under 21 thing, so that would mean most of the current U-21 squad, Wilshire is expected to play in it, players like John Bostock, Rodwell, Welbeck and I can't think of many others that wouldn't be over.
the Olympics are always a sort of semi youth competition - is it changing format?
At the moment it's an U-23 competition, with 3 over age players(I think) allowed.
