Subject: South Africa 2010 - Who would you choose...

I think Green is way more consistent, which is a vital element to goalkeeping...

edit: So on that note, 3 goalkeepers... James, Green and...? (I think not Robinson)

Consistent concession of goals gets you nothing in Woppa's world ;)

It will be Foster imo.

Green has been consistent for a long time, one bad game I can remember him having - James has the odd duff game every now and then, but in other games can be unbelievably good.

Foster would be a good choice

It doesn't HAVE to be 3 keepers, does it? If it was me, I think 2 is good enough, and it leaves place for one more decent outfield player!

One injury and one loss of form leaves you woefully exposed at the back. You can always shoehorn Ashely Young up front, or switch to 4-5-1 if your forwards get injured. Or drop somebody back into midfield if you get four injuries to midfielders, but you can't get an outfielder to adequately cover in nets.

No its not enough as an injury would mean just 2, then a red card suspension or further injury would be really bad news. It is unlikely but not inconceivable.

LOL beat me by 3 seconds. ;)

That's what my missus says. She rarely laughs, though.

LOL. :)

I just spat coffee everywhere. Thanks woppa.
That's the other thing she says. But it's not coffee.
Green

Johnson - Terry - Ferdinand - A. Cole

---------------Barry

----Lennon - Lampard - Gerrard

--------Rooney - Heskey

Johnson and Ashley Cole playing as attacking wing-backs, giving us pace and power up front, Gareth Barry playing the holding role with Terry and Ferdinand when they do so. When defending, we'd revert to a conventional 4-4-2. If fit, the Joe Cole would get the nod in Gerrards place, Lampard would be dropped for gerrard. Defoe will run all day, but Heskey has the big game experience.

He just can't finish chances though unfortunately.....I think Carlton Cole has more goal threat in him and leads the line just as well.

I guess Foster is in the box seat for that third spot, but I'm not a fan of his. Maybe Foster is in line for the second spot and James is down the pecking order, because Green was pretty good last night, and I liked his attitude in being annoyed that he'd been beaten when Croatia scored even though we were three up (I think) at the time.

Carson is another, but I don't even know which club he's at these days.

True enough. She can't even smell coffee without feeling sick since I got her up the duff. Or since she got up the duff, whichever is more accurate.
