would have thought stjamespark@sportsdirect.com made more sense. it sucks as a name and doesn't even bring in any new money - just a way for c***ley to write off some of the money he's putting into the club against his own business.
that's what you get for being the "best fans in the world" and scaring the bloke out of his own property, I guess.
When I say you, I don't actually mean you. Of course. I mean all of you. You know, the "nation".

well tbf, he's a bit of a twit isnt he. Yeah, he started off alright being one of the fans and putting the money in, but then he changed things, brought people in who didnt need to be brought in, got rid of people who shouldnt have been gotten rid of, the saga of selling and then not selling when a serious buyer came along and then trying to turn into a money maker for him and his business.
He'll probably try and move the team to london next...

In whose opinion ? The biggest problem that Newcastle have is the fans. Very few people can operate successfully in that goldfish bowl - the expectation is huge and every decision gets microscopic analysis.

in everyone's opinion, could anyone argue we needed dennis wise at the club?
If you buy players in against the managers will, you're asking for trouble no matter what club you're at.
I know the fans can be a bunch of muppets jumping on any bandwagon that comes along, but on this, i dont think there's a football fan in the country that could think cashley hasnt taken us for a ride.

but equally you could write that about most teams,
"i don't think there's a football fan in the country that could think [insert owner]Ashley[/insert owner] hasn't taken us for a ride."

Ashley has made some terrible decisions granted - and his prolonged on-off-on-off Newcastle situation of past year, treatment of kelvin koogan atc was bad....but...he's still put in £200m into the club, and is putting in another £20m in the Championship - a huge amount of money for that league. Newcastle remain easily the richest team in the championship, biggest wage bill, biggest financial support from chairman - no other team is running at such a "loss"
Ian Holloway was saying earlier this season that he reckons he fields a whole first team that earns less than 1 Newcastle player....Newcastle fans can also easily forget how lucky they are to have such a generous benefactor.

he wouldn't have needed to be so 'generous' if he knew what he was doing
but we could have had plenty of other generous benefactors if he had not took the club off the market when a serious buyer came along. He's only really putting the money in now so the club can maintain its value for when he does sell it.
Yes, we still have a massive wage bill, but we've got rid of a lot of the high earners and gone with the academy lads, i think we only have 13 or 14 senior players and given how rubbish we are with injuries thats not a lot and having the quality costs, but dont forget it was him who put the majority of these players on those wages in the first place.

to be honest, most of the huge wage earners are mainly crocks who couldn't get into the top 4 and were semi-retired there.
Mike Ashley sparks burger wars
A BITTER burger war has broken out on the steps of St James’ Park.
In a week where he provoked fury by changing the name of the historic ground, Mike Ashley has now stoked further controversy by threatening another Toon fixture.
Ignoring more than 30 years of tradition, Ashley has brought in his own fast food vans right across the street from a family-run business.
The Little Chef burger vans owned by Harry and Susan Orange have been serving up fare across the street from St James’ Park for longer than many of the younger United fans can remember.
But now their business is threatened after the club brought in a Glaswegian firm to serve food from two expensive rival vans.
There is also a question mark over whether the club are allowed to open up another van within two miles of the existing business.
Owners of the Little Chef vans claim that they were given no warning about the move and are waiting to speak to Newcastle City Council to see if it is even allowed.
Employees turned up for work ahead of the Magpies’ match with Peterborough United yesterday to find the Glaswegian firm had pitched up across the road.
One of the Little Chef workers told the Sunday Sun: “It seems to be an excuse for Ashley to make money. Why would he bring in people from outside Newcastle to do it?
“They are selling exactly the same stuff as us, but it’s more expensive.
“They turned up without warning – we saw them for the first time when we came to work.
“This is a family business which has been here for more than 30 years. Now we will just have to wait and see what happens.
“It just looks like they are trying to put us out of business.”
A spokesman for Newcastle United said: “The club has stationed two concession vans on its premises in order to increase match day revenue.
“They are an extension of the catering that the club already provides to its supporters within the stadium on matchdays.”
Ashley is already under fire after rebranding the 117-year-old ground sportsdirect.com@St James’ Park - provoking a furious fan reaction.
