Getting bored of the beach volleyball already ?
The sun is killing me. I hate living in this weather!
Just came back from a wee holiday in Cyprus (half an hour away) and enjoyed the lovely snow at the top of the Trodos mountains.
It's winter here now and the temperature outside is around 26 degrees Celsius without a single cloud in the sky. Do you have any idea what it is like to see your very few national resources of fresh water, ie lakes dry up and your government contemplating importing drinking water from abroad by tankers?
Ravel in your snow and rain I say!

Better be nice to your neighbours for a bit - the last thing anyone would want is a water blockade...

do you have any idea what it is like to live in a country like england where it seems to rain just about every day, houses get destroyed by floods, and we STILL HAVE A HOSE PIPE BAN IN THE SUMMER DUE TO SHORTAGE OF WATER!!!!!!

Yes, I guess you know what it is like to live in a dried up country... many places in Africa suffer too.
But I know what it's like to live in England too... 5 years experience and I don't feel sorry for you guys. You have lots of fresh water and the steps taken by your government are more than prudent.

I read somewhere on the bbc site about the chinese "seeding" clouds, effectively making them rain ? Might have been april 1st or something.
I'm on the 3rd floor of a victorian hotel cum serviced offices block, and can see snow gently falling to the ground. It's not cold enough to lay though.

Seeding clouds is not a Chinese thingy... it is done all over the world. Usually done with planes, they spray what I think is called Ionized silver particles into the clouds. The clouds have to be quite substantial in the first place - this doesn't create clouds out of nothing. The particles help the water to condense around them and make it heavy enough to fall. American farmers do it on regular basis.
the chinese claimed they made it snow just before the Olympics and when asked why? or how? they said it was a secret...
I thought that since the pollution level is on average 50 times worse than WHO guidelines it shouldn't be too difficult to work out...
