Woppa [del] to All
Over the post in footy down the park with your mates...was it in or not. I seem to remember it being disallowed, but some here at work think over the post is in. I'd do a poll, but I can't. Is it a plus-only thing?

It was out as far as I recall..

Depends if the biggest guy playing took the shot or was in goals :)

always tended to have to take a pen on it :p
2010-01-13 15:58:57
but what if the pen goes over the post ? you could be there all day...
2010-01-13 16:01:47

over a post (jumper, trousers, boots, bags whatever there was to use as that post) was and always is a no goal.

NOW onto the really hard one "over the bar" - WHAT BAR?!!!!!!!!!!!

it's actually good striker training that, because it forces you to shoot low, and a low shot is much harder to save then one at chest or head height.

The bar would be the maximum height the keeper's arm can reach without jumping.

out every time.

That's why dwarves are the best goalkeepers!

am agree with fm - out

depends really, if i hit it or my team, it was definately post and in the majority of the time. If it was the others then it doesnt count.

Generally out, but in my later years we'd do a "rebound" by standing on the post with back to field and throw the ball in under legs.
