the toon are back! Forest getting just a point from their game yesterday means Newcastle are back in the Premiership; not bad with 5 games to go still :-)
let's hope the team, management, and fans, have learnt something from this. and even more importantly lets hope Ashley can now find a buyer for the club so he can f*** **f

I think you're stuck with Ashley - maybe your fans will have less ridiculous expectations in future.
Im sure they have learned about as much as the last time.
Still the same expectations me thinks.
Slightly off topic ...I was listening to Watford v West Brom yesterday on 5 live and they mentioned that Norwich have a higher average gate in League 1 than they did in the Prem in 04/05.
I know there's two ways to look a this, but I think it just shows that all supporters would rather watch a winning team. Its hard to curb those expectations just because you've been promoted!

im glad they are back, they can fill their stadium. unlike some (wigan etc)
We'll see how the transfer window will work out, but I don't have any expectations towards the forthcoming season...will be enough if they manage to stay in PL. Let us be non-biased, what strikers there are? Wooden Ameobi and Carroll? Alan "I haven't scored yet despite 68 games that I played" Smith? Our best is Lovenkrands, and that is a good summary I guess. They are nowhere near Shearer, Martins, Bellamy, even Lua Lua...
I'd suggest that it's down to away teams filling their small allocations, and more tickets being available for home fans. In the Prem, the northern teams weren't filling up their allocations as much. This season, we've had a number of teams fans turning up expecting to be able to buy tickets on the gate, as they would be able to at any other league 1 club, only to be disappointed as the games are tending to sell out a couple of weeks before. But yeah, we wouldn't be selling out as a mid-table league 1 team, although we would have gates over 20,000, as that's approx the number of season ticket holders we have, and they get counted whether or not they show up in the gate figures.

saw us at peterborough and we were pretty naff for the most part, midfield looks pretty solid as unit, work hard and dont make many mistakes, could probably do with an attacking one with a bit of flair and can do the splitting through balls. Defence was pretty shoddy, the Taylors Enrique Colo williamson are pretty solid most of the time but we could do with another rock steady full back.
Could do with a pacey striker as we like the long ball with big Andy or shola and either nolan or lovenkrands playing off, leon best has pace but god he's awful, pancrates awful as well.
Harpers made a few mistakes but a lot of world class saves. On the whole, we should be fine for a midtable finish next season with this squad as it is and st james' becoming a fortress again, but a couple of good buys who want to play for us would be nice.

I think you've got too little quality up top for that, you also have to remember that you had a better side that got relegated, and if Hull/Burnley get relegated, next season could be very tricky at the bottom of the table.
Your midfield is certainly the strongest part of your team, but I'm not convinced with Harper as a PL quality GK.
Next season should be interesting and worrying(I'm assuming Wolves stay up) as there will definitely be one relegation spot up for grabs which no-one will want.

I wonder how is Tim Krul developping, by any chance at least top 10 PL goalkeepers in future? Somewhere near Carlo Cudicini maybe?
Don't know if he's ready for the Prem yet, but Fraser Forster has been immense for Norwich this seaosn on loan from Newcastle. I'm hoping we can get him again for next season in the Championship...
there's plenty of other poor teams that cant score or defend and with the lads we've got now, they have the commitment and as a team have come together over the last season whereas before we were a good 11 individuals on their day if you get my drift. We'll be similar to Fulham i think if we can get that forward, santa cruz would do the job. Dont think there's many keepers about that we could get really, Harpers probably close to retiring as well, doesnt seem to be enjoying it too much.
3 from Wolves, West Brom, Wigan, West ham and whoever comes up from the playoffs will go down.

Krul will be great in a couple of seasons but needs a bit of blooding in the cup yet, he loves it at Newcastle and the fans love him, as long as we keep him happy he'll be our no.1 as soon as Harper retires or injured or something.
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GET PLUS SO I CAN TAUNT YOU A SECOND AND THIRD TIME?
