West Hams squad will be vastly different next season, either in a good or bad way. lol
2010-05-10 21:16:25
can it actually get worse? haha
2010-05-10 21:32:01
Who asked an Everton fan? ;)

i am not an everton fan, what made you think that?
2010-05-10 21:40:23
Pulling your leg, you are a Scouser aren't you?
2010-05-10 21:41:42
yesh, haha

Ok, fine - the team might be good enough to avoid the relegation. But come on, is it really what SHOULD be the aim...? The team isn't getting any younger, and if they won't start spending money now, we will be having a relegation roulette every season. To build a team you have to invest consistently, with previously thought out idea. Without it the things will never go better.

well if we've got no money there's no point splashing the cash and exotic players that will fail @ st james' like all the others have. Consolidate for a season, try and get a few cheap buys/out of contract players, then spend a bit next season or in January if we need to.

Newcastle never seem the 'Sound financial footing' type of team.

It seems odd. You'd expect boom or bust.
2010-05-10 22:03:25
In modern football it is quite normal to split the price of a player for 3-4 seasons, and I think that it would solve the problem with finances. ps. no signs of some wicked billionairs trying to buy us out from the hands of the Devil himself?

Can I just say winning the Championship and staying in the Prem with the same team that effectively got relegated in the first place is a totally different thing. If you don't spend then you will find it tough next season without a doubt.
2010-05-10 22:12:11
but with all the troubles we had the season we went down its a totally different proposition this time. We have stability now with team unity bar the taylor-carroll thing, we've become a team down there. Burnley didnt buy anyone really and they werent too far from staying up.

We'll see. :)

Another big test will be your managers second season. I have seen a lot of managers perform well in their first season, the 2nd season is always a key period for any good manager. I personally hope you do well as you are without doubt or should be a Prem team.

Is that the Beckford that plays for leeds ? He's off to Everton, pre-arranged.
2010-05-11 13:28:26
But pre-arranged deals for out of contract players are now not legally binding until the last month of said players contract, if he was made a better offer/wanted to go elsewhere I believe he could still back out of the Everton deal (Is that 100% or just rumours?).

I think that's what I read somewhere a few months ago anyway.

But the sky is green on my planet, and until I'm proven wrong by someone reaching my planet then you can't be right.

Or at least I think that's what you meant.

He's off to Everton. And it's not like he's any good anyway.
