Subject: British elections
By all means vote for Thatchers lovechild. Don't blame Imran when you need a public service and your nearest ambulance/fire engine/police car is 72 miles away thanks to good ol fashioned Tory cuts.
Tony Blair got elected by virtue of not being a Conservative. A sound strategy in sensible minds.

Interesting. Do you actually follow politics? Blair took Labour so far to the right he was a Conservative in everything but name only.

I take it you are too young to remember the actual election then.
Sure he took things that way once he was in power, but the election in 1997 went pretty much thusly:
John Major: "Hello everyone! I'm John Major! I'm your Prime Minister, look how well I've done! Vote for me!"
Tony Blair: Hi there! I'm not John Major, or Tory, vote for me.
With respect, it worked for him.

Now I have to disagree with Imran on that point about cuts. The Tories want Fire and Police after all they cannot have rift raft attacking their house in the country or trying to car jack the Rolls-Royce at the traffic lights.

Also petrol will be so expensive there will be a new expression "Sticking out like a sore Tory" as only the rich will be able to afford cars so dealing with the congestion issue.
Sod it petrol is so dear I may as well vote Green now and get it over with.

Which actual election? the one I voted in in 1992, 1997, 2001 or 2005?
btw your ignorance is staggering ...Sure he took things that way once he was in power. That's exactly my point. What a politician says before an election doesn't really matter, if what they do once in office is trample on every principle that they claimed to hold dear.
Yet in your little world a man can say 'I'm not a Tory', get elected then f*ck everything up, and that would all be ok ...because he wasn't a Tory.
I'm not necessarily suggesting people should vote Tory. However, I do think people should vote for the party who they think has the best chance of sorting this mess out. Not just the same party that they always voted for, or because their Dad voted for them, or because they're too lazy to understand politics, or because they take a simplistic view (as seems to be the case with you).
You've got a vote and a brain - try using both!

Only 72 miles away ? That's normal for Norfolk.
And if every "Non-Aryan whatever they're called" (which probably includes me because I'm Irish from 4 generations back, and one of my other ancestors was born in Rio in the 19th century and then married in Doncaster) joined the BNP, then all the "foreigners" could kick the "True Englishmen" out of their own party. Now that I would pay to see.

Large swathes of this country vote the way they do out of tradition, it's why Tories always do well in the countryside, Labour in the cities - if you want to change the outcome, you would have to change the voting system - I say this as a long term Lib Dem voter.
Edit - and as for who will win, well, Cameron says "let's sort this mess out straight away, with deeper cuts" - Brown seems to be saying "Let's leave it for a bit, we can cut back later" - which one of those appeals most to human nature ? My guess is Browns' take on it will keep him in.

It's the old "You don't agree with my point so you must be too stupid to understand it." argument, I see.
What a politician says before an election doesn't really matter, if what they do once in office is trample on every principle that they claimed to hold dear. Yet in your little world a man can say 'I'm not a Tory', get elected then f*ck everything up, and that would all be ok ...because he wasn't a Tory.
Did I say it mattered? Did I say it was okay? You are making stuff up inbetween your fits of rage and foul language. I simply stated that he won by not being a Tory, because lets face it after Thatcher and Major, people were rightfully through with them. You'll notice I didn't actually mention how successful His Tonyness was in his Presidency [sic]. You imagined that bit.
We all know when it comes down to it that the PM is told what to do by the king of the lizard people anyway.

tories have about a 17,000 majority where my house is situated, dont do a bad job, but i spend the majority of my life in a different constituency where they do a pretty terrible job. I'm voting lib dem atm, but my Dad got asked last time round whether he'd consider running as a BNP guy with the money paid for him so i guess i'd have to vote for him if it happened again and he said yes. Off to uni anyway for the next 4 years so makes little difference to me either way.
I really think the lib dems could do something this time round if they keep letting the other two squabble like divs and make the lib dems look like the only credible choice, esp with Cable there.

The trouble with Cable is that he looks about 20 years too old for the job these days. The trouble with the BNP is that they got those european seats which gave them the money to do what they're offering with your dad.
I don't think age will be a problem for Cable
Unlike Menzies, he isn't leader and doesn't need to be out there all the time. Clegg can do the leg work and the looking energetic
I think the problem with the BNP is that they're basically racists

Poor racists you can just point and laugh at. Racists with money to buy credibility with the electorate, at a time when people are disaffected with the old guard ? You can probably still point and laugh at them, but they could become a bigger problem.
I think they blew a lot on those court cases about having a white's only membership policy
Ive been to a Welsh chipper and can counter argue and say it wasn't too bad. Had a chinese menu to it, the chipper side said it sold haggis. I was sh@gging the owner daughter at the time aswell, so wasn't too bad atall.
As for the election. The more you think about it the more dull all the leaders become. This a deliberate ploy to minimise character assassination?
Whatever happens the next few years could get very harsh indeed. Bad times.

All the BNP are bothered about is if you look white and agree with them. Whilst they might not be the smartest group of people, they don't really have to be. Pray to god they don't get someone as smart as i am to lead them, because the opportunities they miss through not being smart enough to take them are numerous.
