dont get out your pram jaize the ref was a blatant homer and just abit bias and sure that has nothing to do with a portugues wife,i did say you shouldnt blame refs i was just stating a fact(even if a useless one)......and to steelers u make a very good point there and rooney is a god his presence is immense,u spent how much on berbatov tho?but seems hes not good enough to be relied upon on big games....money well spent then, and u cant compare berbatov to ngog.id play a 1 legged torres instead of ngog.

Rooney wasn't fully fit for Bayern, so can't really be criticised for not making his normal contribution.

As for not good enough to be relied upon in big games, I'd say United's first 15 prem games say otherwise.
I don't know if you noticed, but we were absolute garbage early season. If it wasn't for Rooney we'd currently be scapping with your lot for the privilege of finishing 5th!
As for Berba, no, he's not world class. Very good, but not world class ...and a totally diffferent player to Rooney. Did we overpay? Based on performances so far and in the current market ...yes. But hindsight is a wonderful thing :)

i am actually a supporter of berbatov, he just needs a partner like robbie keane, that partnership was immense the way they worked together, but with fergie having the emphisis at playing counter attack away and at home and playing only 1 up front, he will not play to his best.

well put steelers spot on mate :) ....in true honesty im not really in much of a position to comment with the money that rafa has spent and in some cases waisted as our season has been total poo.

Or Carlton Cole?
2010-04-09 17:10:36
Carlton who?
2010-04-09 17:16:54
For England....hes quality.
2010-04-09 17:35:05
pram? you don't know how funny that is...

Seriously? Leaving aside the question of whether he's good enough, I think he lacks experience at the top level, yet isn't young enough not to care.
His goal scoring record is poor, especially for a an out-and-out forward (best season is 12 goals - all competitions).
Also, I'm not sure what frame of mind he'll be come the summer if the worst happens and the Hammers go down, and possible even if you escape the drop (his nerves will shot to pieces).
I just don't think England can risk a roster spot on him, as you don't have time to play your way in to confidence and form at a World Cup.

would wheelchair have been more appropriate? :)

He is better at holding up than Heskey imo and is more of a threat. If you are looking for a Heskey type to go that is.
2010-04-09 18:42:40
Cole should go instead of Heskey. If he hasn't got enough experience at top level when do we start giving him it? I think it's perfect timing to bring him in to prove a point and replace the "donkey Heskey"

What are peoples opinions on Almunia for England? Plays at a top 4 team, been at Arsenal forever and if it helps the team why not? Rob Green has had an ok start as England number one but if we want to win the world cup don't you think the best player available should go? Had a great game against barca for the first 20 mins anyway!

As a Westham fan do you think Parker should be given a second chance in an England shirt? Had a GREAT season for you and clearly gives his all for the club whereas we have Gerrard walking about with a massively disapointing season behind him? I love all the speculation before the squad is announced, can think of 40 players that have a case to be on the plane to South Africa!

comfy armchair possibly...

Even without my Claret and Blue glasses on Parker should definately be in the squad. Hes a fantastic player and would play easily for any top side on current form. I rate him so highly I think he should make the squad before any other West Ham player inc. Green, Upson, Cole.

I agree that Cole has not had a great scoring record, but consider 12 so far in the season within a struggling side. He has caused some great defenders a lot of problems this season.
