Please, please can anyone tell me why is snooker on television? What is the fascination?

It's the world championship. To get perspective, think World Series of baseball. Although, this year we have a scotsman and an australian. I sometimes follow snooker, and I've never heard of either of them.

True, it's not... but when to take the shot on, which shot to take on, whether to play for position off the pot or cover the reds, when to keep playing safe to force a mistake, these are all tactics ;)

most boring sport ever, yet i still watch it because its a choice between that, the antiques roadshow or some gays on c4 trying to show the world they're gay.
