Subject: Capello's 30 man squad

2010-05-24 23:47:46
Green helped his chances tonight or night. Couple of good saves but a fumble in there too.

Johnson continues to impress me. What was Baines doing on the corner :S schoolboy defending; he should have been running up the pitch like a mad little lout as soon as the corner swung out to the 18 yard box!

i agree bit dodgy defensively in the first half, baines was calamity, by far our worst player, walcott was pacey but final ball let him down.

As I saw it Lennon was good, especially at rolling. Overall more gaps than a redneck smile.

Current chance of world cup success 16/1.

Greens fumble came from a fairly awful bounce from the pitch did't it.
2010-05-25 10:06:45
blame the pitch, that old chestnut...

What a pathetic showing against Japan! If not for the 2 own goals its highly possible we would have lost.. :(
Sad...
2010-06-01 17:03:55
not highly possible, a certainty.

2-2 = 0 and the Japanese scored 3...

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (Manchester City), David James (Portsmouth), Robert Green (West Ham).

Midfielders: Gareth Barry (Manchester City), Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Joe Cole (Chelsea), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Aaron Lennon (Tottenham), James Milner (Aston Villa), Shaun Wright-Phillips (Manchester City).

Forwards: Peter Crouch (Tottenham), Jermain Defoe (Tottenham), Emile Heskey (Aston Villa), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United).

Oh dear...
2010-06-01 17:08:02
HESKEY?

Wtf?
2010-06-01 17:11:34
Heskey is a waste of space, he can't get into Villa's 1sts and yet he's an England starter? I'd rather have 1 Agbonlahor or Zamora than 1,000,000 Heskey's...
2010-06-01 17:13:22
CARRICK?

He's useless, he does nothing, Barry is far better.

However, I'm glad Bent is out as he's not international standard.

Emile Heskey:

Average Stamina Tragic Keeper
Excellent Pace Good Defender
Outstanding Tech Magical Playmaker
Formidable Passing Formidable Striker.
2010-06-01 17:17:05
You are right.. I still can't understand why some people have their hopes so high about England! Its frustrating to explain ... :S
2010-06-01 17:18:13
Playmaker and tech is ok but definitely disagree about formidable striking! More like solid.. :(

2010-06-01 17:20:44
Nah, he can score. Solid would be a League One team.
2010-06-01 17:54:29
i would have personally added adam johnson instead of wright-phillips, the options for left wing/midfield are bare.

im glad warnock is in the squad instead of baines, leighton was awful in the friendlies he played. ;)
