Well done Oxford - congrats Jimmy. However.
This is not division 2 - it's division 4. Stop falling for football league spin ! :)

Ta. It is good for football i think, a team that well supported. Sky Sports News were flicking through the average attendances for teams and it makes interesting reading. For example, the top 9 Championship sides all averaged better attendances than i think it was the 3 relegated Premiership sides. Either there are some more deserving Championship sides or a lot of people like to watch lower quality but winning football.
@gford: Histon have caused us all sorts of problems, and one of the worst defeats in the clubs history (nice of them to sell us Midson). Cambridge are a good side too but have had some off the field problems which haven't helped. I hopeful we'll do quite well next season; the last 5 promoted teams have had mixed fortunes, but generally do not go straight down. Certainly, the 5th tier is beginning to be known as one of the hardest leagues to promote out of; only 1 auto promo spot and with a mix of some very good semi-pro sides and ex-league veterans it's not easy.
@ncn: very true :)

Definitely the last option. People like to win. Can't blame them. ;-)

The SKY money enables small attendance Premier League clubs to buy better players than the top end Championship clubs. They have distorted the whole economics of the game, so I find it ironic that they are picking up on this.

Absolutely ! 8,000 attendance, and a portakabin away stand. Might be touch and go with their ground to be honest, but they've earnt it !
congrats to blackpool.
Wish it was forest, but blackpool have played good exciting football all season with a squad that Ian Holloway at the beginning of the season said earned less money than 1 Newcastle player...

histon are a strange side they are a semi pro club and some players wages were over 1k a month,thats why they had to offload some players,certain first teamers where left on the bench for last 6-7 games because they wouldnt sign a new contract for cheaper....now word is next season there going professional sounds abit dodgy too me.
with the comment about cambridges problems being off field that comment is spot on,theyve always been a bent club.i was a season ticket holder for 6 years until i got fed up with everything that went on outside the team....they had a 20% sell on clause for dave kitson which they brought out of for about 50k then a couple of months later reading sold him to stoke.i cant remember price but was around 5mill.20% of that is a wee bit more than 50k.final straw was they made fans raise money for a new stadium and they raised alot of money, then that went on the fking away end,some games u had a 3000 seater stand getting filled by 40 people.

Cambridge came down to Boston in the FA cup last year i think it was and they didnt seem to be a nice team at all, fans were a bit unfriendly as well to say the least.
funny u should say that,cambridge have a small minority which like to think there a firm,last season at wembley i witnessed 8-9 cambride fans aged no older than 17 start on 2 torquay fans,being in a few scraps myself when going away me and a friend told the little bastads straight how hard they were starting on 2 people who wanted no trouble and would they do the same if there was 5 of them let alone the same number they soon retreated saying they wernt doing anything.last season they arranged a fight at kettering but at last minute kettering didnt turn up,purely because they wernt expecting so many cambridge fans to turn up,at both legs against luton there was alot of fighting around the towns, then we drew um in the fa trophy, ko was moved to 12.00 to avoid further trouble...its like the 1980s and shamefully football violence is still defo around at this club...
