have you seen the two midgets pay together? man they are gash!

also people try to defend against Crouch in the air for some reason so it would be easier to organise set plays to use the giraffe to draw away defenders. Whilst I respect Defoe on the ball, I am not swapping him in for Rooney unless Wazza is proven dead first.

I unfortunately get the feeling that Rooney will end up paired with Emile (cannot hit an elephants arse from a yard) Heskey. :s

Give up guys... we just dont have enough quality inform players like rooney..

@astonp - a nice solid dependable team but not flair which is what will go far in this cup.

@wd40 - you are probably right but whilst Heskey can hold up a ball in league footie, the same approach does not work in International games because most teams have 2 decent centrebacks and at least one defensive mid that stop that sort of nonsense, I am starting to think that Capello isn't as imaginative and creative as the FA believes him to be.

@muhajir - you know the rules - no slagging England until they scrape a jammy draw against the yanks!

solid is what will win it though, we havent kept a clean sheet since about the 5th group game whilst qualifying for the thing, there's no way we will win if we cant defend properly.

Start off solid, then bring on the flair, we dont have anyone with the flair that we can trust/rely on for 90 minutes, makes more sense to bring Lennon on towards the end than someone like Barry.

Gerrard cant play with lampard- true

i also believe ferdinand cant play with terry, they are awful together at the back. imo of course.

Either lineup you play, its not like you won't make it to the group stage. It's just a play for 1st place in the group. (IMO, easily belongs to England unless USA gets really stupid lucky)

As far as 2nd place, as much as I would love to see the USA advance to the 2nd round, they'll have to play very carefully against Slovenia. I don't expect too much from Algeria tbh.. But its the World Cup, anything can happen!

We have the ability to grab defeat and failure from almost certain success. ;)

Whatever team we come up with I am pretty sure we wont make it past the 16 stages... :( Miracle if we even reach the Quarters.
