In this month's issue of FourFourTwo, they have a list of Paddy Power's odds on cliches that Clive Tyldesley will use in the match against USA, so I have them here.

WHICH CLICHE WILL CLIVE TYLDESLEY USE FIRST IN-GAME? (NOT ADRIAN CHILES)
Everyone pick one and whoever wins wins... nothing but never mind :)

1966 about 100 times in the first 10 minutes...oh wait its not motsey your talking about ah well 90 times in the first 10 minutes it is then.
2010-06-09 19:19:52
Paddy Power have it at 10/3, 1950 is another hot bet at 5/1

"England Captain" - Ferdinand's injury makes this a pre-match topic

but if it is during the 90 minutes then "cometh the hour" seconds after the whistle is blown

I can see making themselves heard getting in there early, so I'll pluck for that one.
2010-06-09 20:12:00
thats exactly my reasoning :)

I'd have had the mortgage on 1966, but rtg got there first :(

So I'll take carnival atmosphere

Dream Start for me (as USA make it 1-0 after 5 minutes. England win 3-1)
2010-06-10 11:25:49
I'll take Special Relationship, but only because I can't find a reference to the Boston Tea Party.

Im going for......" This is a really poor start for England in this first half "

3-1 would be good.

Rooney has really teabagged the ref this time?

Maybe not...
2010-06-10 12:01:17
I'm really hoping there are more meanings for teabagging than I know ...if not, I'd rather he swore at the ref and maybe just punched him.

btw - I think there are speacialist shops if that's your bag Jaize (no pun intended) :)
2010-06-10 12:12:05
I am not sure you can really buy that...

;-)
2010-06-10 12:16:43
I was thinking more like DVD's ...I think I need to stop thinking!
2010-06-10 12:24:00
and hide the DVDs probably...

This is like the business world Bullshit bingo.
Before every meeting everyone gets a bingo type chart with lots of cliche words like 'synergy' and 'added value' and 'strategic planning', which one must tick in his own bingo chart. When one finishes a straight line, comes the shout: 'Bullshit!' and the winner gets excused from the rest to the boredom/boardroom.
