Subject: England won but.........

I agree with you.

@ NCN that is a nice change imo. :)

Either way teams like Man U, City, Chelsea etc will have 25 Internationals. ;)

Will make it interesting how many african players get picked seen as they miss parts of the season....

Johnson showed early promise but then injuries set him back. English youth players aren't looking bad at all, wilshere getting experience at Bolton, Noble is still young alongside Cattlertmole (joke) and Huddlestone looks better every season! Calton Cole will hopefully be taking lessons from Defoe rather than Heskey in shooting practice.

I think the majority of the players in the current team could be around for 2012. Although not necessarily the following World Cup.

david james? he would be 43/44 but if you are good enough you are old enough says i! :)

Is that some sort of new fangled time travel where you age 4 years in the space of 2?
2010-06-25 23:33:15
yes.

I also think it is an absolute joke that you get paid to play for your country!

exactly.
I talked with on Turk this weekend, he was visiting Warsaw with my friend and we met at a party. The conversation moved to football and he told me that Ozil said, that he has chosen Germany because they offered him more money...it's a freaking joke.

That worries me - the current first 11 aren't disciplined enough to make a cohesive unit.

i tell you what - reading the bbc website with all this "rip it up and start again" or "its time to bring in the youngsters" soooo reminds me of Scotland when we brought in Berti Vogts. God help you all if that is the path the FA take
2010-06-30 15:44:09
There's a blog entry on the beeb that suggests that the FA can't afford to offload him. They waived a clause to remove him cheaply on the same day England got on the plane to SA.

i dont really mean bringing in vogts. It was the whole to hell with the current squad and bring in the youngsters. It damaged scotlands rankings serverly. There were youngsters being brought in who were never ever going to make the grade but it was a "suck it and see" policy.

Its not the answer, honestly, I suffered in the hampden stands watching young players get completely ripped apart by seasoned internationalists. Were only now starting to come out the other end of that era with players who would have slipped into any existing squad anyway.

Me neither, I think Capello will stay and rely on most of the world cup 22, for at least a season. One dodgy decision, a couple of defenders keeping their heads instead of panicking and going gung-ho, and we would have gone through in all likelihood.
