Subject: England or Germany?

2010-06-27 20:41:06
Same :P

The defence was a joke, who slipped goddamn LSD into Terry's and Upson's drink, they were just tottering around out of position anywhere
2010-06-27 20:55:07
im not being rude mrhfan but have some respect, theres lots of dissapointed people on here and theres no need for your sarcastic comments,go over to the american sokker forum with your comments....yep the middle didnt track back thats for sure and the centre backs positioning was like sunday league...whatever the players earned during this WC should be donated to charity as they were a f***ing disgrace,i could go on and on but i shall just leave

That's sort of been the quality of Upsons performances throughout the season for West Ham, there's a reason they struggled to stay up.

I'm actually of the belief that Terry got worried by Upsons crapiness and started doing things he wouldn't usually do.

Oh, and does this mean that West Ham lost us the WC.

Cartman hush your mouth! :p

Upson got more goals than any of our fantastic world class forwards and midfielders. I am not saying he was great by any means but the team is at fault not one man.

We were woefully exposed today due to pace all over the pitch apart from at wingback. Barry's lack of pace was really apparent for Germany's 4th goal....Oezil is not even that quick!

Lampard is also slow and never busts a gut to defend. This meant we were always open and always prone to fast counters which is what made our defence look so bad imo. Germany won the midfield battle and by some margin, thats what won the game.

I still maintain however that at 2-2 which it shoud have been they were there for the taking and even at 2-1 looked very shakey! I would go as far as saaying that at 2-2 we would have won the game as their inexperience would have counted against them and the wind we would have had in our sails from 2 quick goals would have seen us go on and cause more and more problems.

I state again....how on earth did Scott Parker not make our squad, his drive and determination would have been key in games like that where Barry looked off the pace with Lampard in the middle.

Oh and I agree Upson's form has been poor this season. A quicker defender should have been taken to play with Terry like Micah Richards.

totally agree with that, we were the only with the ball and could have easily scored 5 or 6 but nueur had a blinder, the linesman was garbage and the bar was an inch too low. Germany looked like scoring everytime they went forward and well basicaly, they did, defence was gash.
2010-06-27 22:26:20
eh? you guys clearly need to take off your english specs. Germany dominated the game apart from 10 minutes in the first half. Neur had a bliner??? LOL he was at fault for the first goal, was at fault for the goal that never was and was particularly shaky the whole game.

Its about time you all realised your team arent as good as you think they are and go to these games just to enjoy the banter and the atmosphere. Get drunk have a larf and if you win its a bonus. Instead you always expect to win the cup and are disappointed when it ends in miserable failure.

rtg in all due respect I have stated in various places that we were not good enough, I also believe that we have players who should have played that did not. Whether you care to admit it or not, that non-goal could have been key in the game had it been given, they were cagey after we scored the first and under severe pressure afterwards.

If Scotland had these player issues then you would probably feel the same as some of the guys on here, however thats not really likely is it and thats why your guys do not expect anything other than failure.

.........as a West Ham fan I am pre-conditioned to expect failure so there. :p

yup i agree IF the second goal was allowed it may have been a different game. I wasnt really referring to your posts but earlier ones of England dominating the game - piffle! They dominated for that 10 minute period when the Germans seemes to shit themselves.

David James was Englands best player yet England dominated???

Centre backs were at best Sunday League
Midfield were at best Sunday subs
The great Wayne Rooney - world class player - there is your stage pal go and prove it - oh wait you didnt!

Capello??? Im surprised i must admit. I was the first to raise my eyebrows when the FA signed them as i thought "shit, finally a bigger ego than the players" but alas it appears some of the players dont really give a shit about playing for England the way they do for their clubs.
2010-06-27 22:45:05
I agree with all you stated in the 2nd post.

Plus we did not dominate.
2010-06-27 22:58:50
David James was Englands best player yet England dominated???

even though he was the reason England lost 2 goals? He was paralised today...
2010-06-27 22:59:15
I don't really think England were either....Like I said before on this current form...We not win it for ages.

Go Brazil!!

I was just joking, well sort of.

I was surprised Milner got taken off for Cole, in fact I believe it was only a minute or so later that we conceded the 3rd. I wanted Gerrard taken off as he kept trying to play the greatest pass in WC history, Milner at least looked to get a cross in from realistic positions and looked to at least be able to trouble Boateng, I can't remember J.Cole/Gerrard doing anything.

The side does maissively lack pace, apart from the 2 full backs, who I thought apart from James were 2 of our better players today, unfortunately the mess in between them was beyond belief in many ways.

Germany were by far the better team, of that there's no doubt, there's just a case of what if about it all, I'm sure the Mexicans will be feeling the same about Argentina's first.

I actually want Holland to win it now, actually I forgot about Spain, I like their style too and think they can definately win this World Cup. :)

I feel our LB and RB were our best players the whole tournament, they are the only ones who for me deserved any credit.

I agree Milner should have stayed on, but this is what wids me up, its almost as if Gerrard and Lampard have this clause in the their contracts that they must play! :/ ....it really erks me!

I think Cole looks shot, Joey that is....and I loved him when he first broke into the West Ham side.

I say get shot of Barry, and one of either Lampard or Gerrard. Johnson needs to come in...and why not give a young Def mid or even Parker a go, because he certainly has more drive and determination than we had today.

Bent should have gone to the WC as Heskeys only real addition was to take out our only Pacey CB in Ferdinand.

At the end of the day Lampard and Gerrard are both attacking mids who do well with 2 def mids covering for them, they are both (in the same midfield) a luxury for me.

I just finished posting this on Feestyle International.

At the end of the day I understand Technology is expensive, BUT - this is the World Cup Finals...if we can't get the matches sorted out properly in this The Biggest of International Tournaments then what hope do we have?

Mexico - hard luck, the linemen of some of these countries are just not up to scratch, a bigger reason for the Technology to be used.

Sepp Blatter is a disgrace. FIFA are a disgrace, they have reserves of 1 600 000 000 £ can they not help the poorer countries out wih this? Instead of bullying little businessmen in SA from creating something they can sell from what is meant to be their World Cup?

At the end of the day we were not good enough, and yes in 66 we scored that goal....but it was a damned sight closer than todays shambolic decision, plus it was 44 years ago!
2010-06-27 23:30:12
oh I'm just having a bit of fun mate. Nothing malicious meant by it..
2010-06-28 00:01:09
neuer made 2 top quality fingertip saves, that coupled with Lampards goal gives us 4 goals.

We came apart going for the equaliser, Germany weren't that good and could only get through because of our hopelessly slow defense.

Of course we expect to win the cup, we're one of the best teams in the world, we beat the germans in there own back yard with our B team the last time we played. We drew to Holland, just lost out to Brazil and qualified with a near perfect record, if we performed we would have won the WC and could have hammered Germany today if things had gone differently and you're mad if you cant see that.
