Markos [del] to All
Hi guys!
i recieved today my exams results and i fortunately met my offer for UCL. I'm going there to study Bsc. Economics. I have obviuosly already made a lot of research about the place but i would be pleased to hear some comments/opinions from you too :)

e.g. How far it is from Oxbridge and LSE? Which career opportunity does it offer?
Above all, how do people claim to feel there? How is student life?

Thanks in advance.

oh of course that famous Uni everyone has heard of in the UK

I thought this was about the Champions League at first too :)

dude. much kudos UCL is a good uni. Do not think of comparing any other uni to the Oxbridge ones though as they are in a different league for lots of reasons and even though LSE is getting closer Oxbridge will always be up there with the best in the world due to their very different funding. Having said that, they are now 2 and 3 in the world behind Harvard that had a budget of 22 BILLION last year... and 40 nobel prize winners on the teaching staff - mindboggling!

In terms of geography, Lancaster is in the North West of England, about 4 or 5 hours on the train from London. Oxford and Cambridge are about 1 and a half hours from London.

At least, that's what I think you asked.

oh well
joking aside

University College London is not far across London from the LSE
Oxford and Cambridge are an hour or two away

UCL is well thought of, I think
but it is in London so I wouldn't think about studying there for a second

TOP UNI'S

pretty surprising really the amount of Scottish Unis that top this list. Always heard Scottish education was miles better but didnt really believe it.

so for economics you are actually going to the 3rd best uni in the country.

I was asking, how far from Oxbridge and Lse it is in terms of academics... :P

I know - hence my answer...

ignore everyone else, they are idiots.

Oh dear...

you have fallen for the trap of grading a university on grades. This is a bad way to do it.

For example in my own field, architecture, the best of the very best is the Bartlett. This doesn't even feature in the list as I suspect it has a too small a sample but if you graduated from here you are guaranteed a job and will be highly thought of (until you prove otherwise).

Is the what ? There must be about 400 people in the Uk that know what that is.
