Subject: UCL
Is the what ? There must be about 400 people in the Uk that know what that is.
as long as those 400 are recruiting the architecture graduates that's all you need
That's not very inclusive that, though, is it ?
I guess that depends on whether you're an architecture student or not.
they only take about 40-50 a year to maintain exclusivity, but I concede the point that it might be a niche market, especially these days where there are no architecture job at the mo.
Easy way around that, no win no fee architecture companies. If the project doesn't complete, no fee. Seems to work for ten-a-penny lawyers...
there are plenty that do that already...
usually poor quality, social housing repeatative crap. Funny enough these companies usually have lots of architectural technician with solid constructions skills and zero design ones. Fits perfectly in the UK as design and quality are seen as poor value for money although what does get put up has a 10 year warranty!
A £200 shed from B&Q lasts longer than that!
My house is now 120 years old and nothing wrong with it, I don't think we will see much that has been built after about 1974 that will last that long. I personally think this is far, far more wasteful than spending an extra 5-10% up front for a considerably better product.

Sounds like you're describing a gap in the market. But the trouble with a house is that you buy it over 25 years, and people only last for 90-100 years tops, so where is the economic benefit to the builder in making something last 120 years ? It's not like they get a sell on fee :).
well, as nobody seems to know what it's like at UCL, and most of us think it's the Champions' League, what else is there to talk about ?
I went to UCL. Quality university, just not much of a campus feel to it if that is important to you.
If I can persuade my employer that there is business value in releasing me for an MA in Medieval and West Norse, I'll go back there..
