Subject: Joe Cole?
booing? I thought they were doing cow impressions!
Sorry that's terrible, but I back Roy and he knows as much as we do half the squad is deadwood e.g Babel, Insua etc.

Dutch and Argy internationals are dead wood? Roy's out of his depth. Going from a "lets get a point" club to a "wants to be in champs league" club just doesn't work. Tactically doesn't know what to do and Torres doesn't seem to respect him.
Babel doesn't care, he showed that against Northampton, as for Insua, he's like a useless Jon Arne Riise. Since we sold him (for no understandable reason) we have never had a decent left back, but Konchesky was fantastic against Man U
Deadwood?
I am sick of the press still heaping blame on Rafa because RH can't win with a team that finished 2nd 18 months ago and was widely tipped to win the league by many last season. Either Rafa was a miracle worker to get such a poor squad to perform so well which means the press and pundits are idiots for saying he needed sacking or the squad is actually decent enough which means the press and pundits are idiots for still blaming Rafa now.
RH was supposed to come in and steady the ship but instead decided to dismantle the squad and try to change the style of play even though the players at the club are not suited to a boring longball counter attacking game.
If he is still in charge in January more will be replaced by sub standard probably ageing journeymen in his attempt to get players in to suit his insipid style of football and instead of trying to mould a team around one of the best strikers in the world we will sell Torres and bring in Carlton Cole or someone similar.

Some really good points in there....Well done!
think there wont be any choice in selling torres tbh. Its your owners fault and crap foreign players that have no passion that now know they wont be replaced because of the owners, so dont bother trying, they've become too comfortable. Early on they would have tried so they got their big money contracts and the like, now, they cant be bothered.
just the sheer thought of coming up against Torres shows how he worries defender, against Man U in the second half. Carlton Cole though? That's horrible. He is useless :/
Good buy for Liverpool at the moment:
Young exciting 15-25 goal a season striker
then we can look more at top 4ish areas. Right now, Liverpool are like Man City when Mancini arrived. All the players not rated by Roy are going and he's buying in his own players. The selling of Xabi Alonso for a sub-standard Italian was a huge problem.

Don't come cheap, nor with guarantees.

You are right about the owners, they are a cancer and the club was/is making a profit until it comes to interest payments their leverage, no real risk to them loans. Sadly though not enough focus is given to the financial mismanagement from the owners and the Sky generation and the likes just believe that it's all the previous managers fault because of his crap signings.
Players don't have to be foreign to be passionless, Gerrard spent last season strolling around the pitch like a smacked arse instead of rallying the rest of the team like a captain should do and he (and Carragher) are apparently the heartbeat of the club.
As I said barring a couple of missing players this is the same squad as the one that finshed 2nd 18 months ago in the league, it was also ranked 1st in Europe because of the previous few season's results. The media stated that last year's struggles were down to the previous manager's inability to motivate the players and RH was the perfect man to steady the ship because he could do that but he has just made things 10 times worse with the crap he comes out with and the transfer dealings he has done.

Don't want it to look like I am picking on you but your a bit off with what you said here....
"then we can look more at top 4ish areas. Right now, Liverpool are like Man City when Mancini arrived. All the players not rated by Roy are going and he's buying in his own players. The selling of Xabi Alonso for a sub-standard Italian was a huge problem."
Boardroom problems often affect players even though you would think that they could stay focussed considering the huge sums they get paid. Recent clubs that stick out that have had troubles often end up in relegation dog fights like West Ham, Leeds, Portsmouth and Newcastle just to name a few.
The players need motivating and focussing but RH is doing the opposite it seems, I often think that he is Ferguson in disguise. Instead of continueing with what the players were used to he has changed the system to a counter attacking longball game when we have little pace on the flanks and no target man upfield. He has also stopped the team pressing and instead parks two narrow compact banks of four as if he was still at Fulham. He allows teams to pass it around and put crosses in even though the players that he picks are not dominant in the air.
Even when it's noticed that all the goals seem to be coming from crosses from the team's left hand side he refuses to do anything about it except turn on his players. When Ferguson and Bruce sht stir as they often do RH chooses not to get involved or even defend his players, I mean come on Ferguson you call Torres for apparently going down easy when you have Nani that has some sort of balance problems and Bruce you plank, a beachball is legal but a player kicking the ball from where the ref said to take a free kick is not putting it in play? These sort of things are not good for motivation or squad unity and RH should be nipping them well and truely in the bud.
The players shouldn't really need to gel like Man City are having to because there wasn't a need for huge changes like RH has done and his dealing are stupid anyway. There was a shortage at left back but loaning an Argy international out so that he can go on a Bosnam at the end of the season in favour of a 31 year old nobody beggers belief. The same can be said for loaning out the Italian that you mention in favour of Poulson who again is 31 or thereabouts, what makes this one even worse though is that money plus a loaned player was given for a player that couldn't hack it in the slower Italian league but is expected to do better in the fast paced English league were foreign players often struggle to adjust.
As for Alonso he wanted to leave so there was little that could be done about it, the same is true of Mascherano. I actually liked what I saw of the Italian replacement and although no one could replace Alonso's range of passing he offered some fluidity when fit in midfield. Poulson on the other hand offers little at all going forward and for a defensive middy is not very mobile and doesn't even tackle much.
Hopefully RBS will take control in October and take a sum just to clear the debt which will be more appealing for a new owner to come forward.

All this whinging almost reminds me of when I lived in Liverpool.
I find your comments not only uninteresting but also quite idiotic. This topic is about a Liverpool player. If you don't want to hear Liverpool fans talk about Liverpool, feel free to stop reading and commenting :-)
More to the point... That was the one BIG mistake i felt Rafa made, (selling Alonso). I realise he wasn't happy at Liverpool and his wife wanted to go to Spain but isn't the sign of a good manager the ability to keep the best players at their club?
I thought RH did a great job at Fulham scraping draws against the top four and getting some victories over the other mid table clubs but Liverpool are a club start should be in the champions league winning trophies. With signings like Poulson it just doesn't show any ambition. Yeh Joe Cole is a quality player but he's getting on and coulnd't really cement himself in the Chelski side.
If Torres does go in January or next season Liverpool could slip into the realm of Leeds and Newcastle with their best players leaving in droves (if Torres goes i'm 100% sure Reina will follow) and older not as good players going the other way (Poulson).

Meireles is a fantastic signing though. So far he has been fantastic :)
I'm just being obtuse because I think this sudden orgy of media-driven Joe-Cole-inspired prolix Liverpool self-analysis is perversely premature given that
- the financial writing has been on the wall for a while now, it hasn't just happened
- Hodgson is a good manager, will make the most of a rotten situation, and Liverpool will be far higher up the table come the end of the season
- that given the financial restrictions and decline of the team over the past few seasons Liverpool supporters are unrealistic in their expectations if they really believed that things had got as bad as they were going to get and were going to improve this season
Hence, I find a lot of the chunter not only uninteresting but also quite idiotic. You're right though, I should stop reading and shut up, as no doubt I will exponentially contribute to the chunter and get drawn into a barny... :-)
