Subject: Joe Cole?
Agger has been playing at left back mostly under RH (and at the back end of last season due to injuries) when he isn't a left back because Roy saw fit to loan out an Argie international left back that had his whole career ahead of him. We were also short at left back because Roy thought it only right to keep Harry Kewell's treatment table in use with Fábio Aurélio who had run out of a contract after keeping the treatment table warm for a while and didn't want to sign a pay as you play contract, as soon as RH gave him a proper contract again he duly obliged by keeping the physio busy again.
Anyway pray tell, how has Reina managed to keep all those clean sheets and get all those golden gloves when we have been leaking all these goals you are talking about, you know the clean sheets and gloves after Hyypia and Henchoz. While you're at it where has Carragher ( the ever present one) been while Agger and Skrtel have been playing so badly in the middle of the defence? :)

Insua is completely useless, I'm pretty sure every time he's play for Liverpool he's either cost a goal, or been very fortunate not to from poor positioning, not tracking back or just being completely useless.
im sorry, but insua is up there with our worst ever players, useless at defending, and could never put a decent ball in on the overlap.
yes, carragher is to blame as well, he is getting old and slow, but his determination is still there, more than can be said with skrtel and agger.

You missed the point completely, you said Agger and Skrtel need to go because we used to have a really tight defence with Henchoz and Hyypia yet we had lots of clean sheets and golden gloves after the Henchoz and Hyypia partnership had ended with Agger and Skrtel playing a large part in that tight defence that followed.
The Insua point I was trying to make was that Agger (and others) have had to play out of position at left back because RH saw fit to let a promising young player go basically for free only to replace him by a very average player and an injury prone back up.
Insua did make some errors but was 20 years old FFS with plenty of time to learn his trade infront of him while Konchesky is 29 and has achieved nothing and probably needs time to settle and Aurelio as good as he is when fit is injury prone and 31.

He assisted 5 goals last season which put him in 4th place for assists in the Liverpool team, considering that stevieme takes all the free kicks and corners and only finished on 9 assists that's not to shabby at all IMO.
Interestingly (to me anyway) this was the top 4 assisting players last season.......
NAME............... GS SB G SH SG A FC FS YC RC
- Steven Gerrard 42 2 11 143 45 9 33 45 7 0
- Alberto Aquilani 12 12 1 32 10 6 17 25 0 0
- Yossi Benayoun 26 14 8 44 19 6 24 13 1 0
- Emiliano Insua 41 1 1 22 2 5 42 26 3 0
Edit.......
Forgot about the worst player comment from you, you really have to be kidding after the likes of Sean Dundee, Erik Meijer, Istvan Kozma, Jimmy Carter, Paul Stewart, Bjorn Tore Kvarme, Julien Dicks, Jean Michel Ferri, Salif Daio, Glen Hysen and Torben Picnic.

At least we can all agree that its going to need more than a new owner to sort this mess out.
I can't see Hodgson lasting much longer at this current form.....The owners have said they will stick by and support him.....But if this don't change and we go down...Then £300 mil for a Championship club...Seems hard to swallow.
I give him until January transfer then he will go....
Who will replace him and sort the team......I have no idea!

I would have thought that he will possibly get longer with them not being football people and having to bring those sorts in to replace the current board. I dread to think of what more damage he could do if he lasted to another transfer window and the sooner he goes the sooner the next guy can start looking at what he needs to sort things out.
By what I have heard and seen it's certain that the fans want rid as soon as possible too, this is a poll from a forum I use after 24 hours of voting........
Give him the season then judge on results
33 (1.7%)
Xmas, if no improvment, let someone else come in for the transfer window
160 (8.1%)
One or two more game, if no improvment, then he has to go
319 (16.1%)
Cut our losses now and start afresh
1462 (73.8%)
Give him as much time as needed to get it right
8 (0.4%)
I would love to see Rafa come back and carry on his vision but it's bound not to happen this soon seeing that Inter fans apparently like what he is doing. After revamping the youth system he was amassing some decent prospects and by what I have heard the new owners went for a similar model of team building with their baseball team so he would have gotten backing to do the same.

im sorry but you are so wrong, rafa is the reason we are in the mess we are in today, with so many poor players in the first team, reserve and even at youth level.
Inter must be real mugs.
Anyway one of us has posted stats ect to back our arguments up and one of us is just saying that players and manager are crap without any back up so I shall leave this thread for now.

i have better things to do with my life then look for stats, i have my opinions and you have yours, lets just leave it at that eh?
Any Nottingham Forest supporters feeling sorry for this lot ?
What about Sheffield Wednesday supporters ?
This is what it means to be a true football fan I reckon. The good times will be better for it.

So you have to suffer to be a true football fan ...are you catholic by any chance?
you never know, things may be simelar when sir fergie retires and the glazers may have problems..
You guys heard about Rooney planning to leave United? Sounds like another step for ManU going down. No transfer money, SAF making up some lies about 'full squad that does not need any improvements' etc., buying some 3rd class players like Obertan or even hm...9th? class players like Bebe...take Rooney off that time, take into account that Scholes and Giggs won't last for that long and newbies the likes of Gibbson won't make almost any contribution to the future of United...and it looks like a real problem for Manchester, eh? Or am I missing something...
the best thing for them is for rooney to move to spain or italy, or he will haunt them like teves is doing. man u have some great young players like wellbeck, gibson, biram diouf etc, and if they sell rooney for about £30-35 milion, they will go for players like benzema, and maybe a goalkeeper for the outgoing van der sar
Rooney won't go to Italy, no chance for that.
The only other option is Barca/Real. Real does not want to hire Rooney, confirmed by both president and Mourinho. It leaves us with Barca, and it's imho a bit probable. Though they have some debt issues as well.
I think that it might just be a game of Rooney to get a bigger contract. If not, then we're left with City and Chelsea. Considering that Chelsea has cut the expenses lately...well...sounds a bit funny to think of Rooney in the City shirt.
As for Gibbson, Diouf being great...come on, they're not even material for true subs at United. Wellbeck has something in him, but I rate Macheda higher. Still, he isn't that good to think about him as the future of United.
I can see only a couple of good youths, like Evans, Rafael [who will be one of the best RB's in PL in 2 years] and that's about it.
When you think of it, most of United's youths were underachievers. Remember Kleberson? Luke Chadwick? Richardson? Webber? Eagles? Ebanks-Blake?
United is full of players who never hit their true potential...or at least never hit while being at United - like Rossi and Forlan

Not at all - what goes up must come down. That's gravity, and all sports on earth have to adhere to it. Even ones paid for by the Fairy-God-Murdoch.
